In April, Hip-Hop fans were stunned when Coi Leray took aim at Latto (born Alyssa Stephens) for lyrics found in the latter’s song ‘Put It On Da Floor’ that were perceived as subliminal disses.

And though she later walked back the initial clap back by suggesting she may have “overreacted,” Coi made it clear she didn’t appreciate being mentioned in any seemingly derogatory fashion – a stance she reiterated recently when she took to The Angie Martinez Show.’

“Nobody should be mentioning my body,” she told Martinez. “As Black women in the industry, the only way that the world is gonna go round the way we want it to is if we come together,” she relayed before suggesting Latto’s statement could have negatively influenced young girls’ perception of acceptable body image.

Stephens may have cleared up the confusion at the time by telling Leray she “loved her body,” but during a recent session with our friends at ‘XXL’ she went on to express how some issues (like Rap beefs) just get blown out of proportion because of overzealous fans.
