Jussie Smollett has quite the fight on his hands after being indicted on a whopping 16 counts related to what prosecutors call a “staged attack.”
As reported, the embattled ‘Empire’ star claimed he was viciously targeted in a beat-down motivated by his race and sexuality.
However, investigators then turned the search for criminality onto him after determining that they felt he planned the entire episode.
What followed has been an ever-evolving narrative, that’s included two brothers, admittance of drug abuse, and an adamance about innocence.
Now, with prosecutors upping the stakes – charging Smollett for each instance they believe he lied to them – his legal team are speaking up and out in his defence.
Their words below…
Does Future have his sights set on being the next Aquaman? The video for his new single, ‘Goin Dummi,’ would seem to swim toward “yes”!
The fifth visual offered from his latest chart-topping project, ‘The Wizrd,’ the aquatic-themed clip sees the 35-year-old showcase his talent on an underwater throne surrounded by mermaids. This, of course, when not enjoying the view of scantily clad synchronized swimmers.
Will the visual’s unique theme reawaken interest in the project to help it rebound to the top? Look inside and tell us:
The once shelved Aretha Franklin documentary, ‘Amazing Grace,’ has scored a nationwide release date.
Showcasing the stunning vocal prowess of the then-29-year-old songstress recording her legendary ‘Amazing Grace’ gospel album, the original footage was helmed by director Sydney Pollack at the New Bethel Baptist Church in Watts, Calif., in 1972.
Now, after over three decades of “technicalities” stalling its release, the documentary is ready for unveiling as its new, “must see” trailer illustrates. Look below to see the magic ahead of the film’s premiere in theaters on April 5:
A Chicago grand jury sent shock waves through the entertainment industry hours ago when it was announced actor/singer Jussie Smollett – originally indicted on just one felony count of disorderly conduct for filing a false police report by the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office (as we reported here) – had seen that count upped to 16!
Shortly after the news rocked headlines, Jussie’s high powered attorney Mark Geragos – who has represented the likes of Michael Jackson, Chris Brown, and Usher in the past – took to the press to offer his reaction to the news. Also offering updates on Smollett’s emotional status, thoughts on the Chicago police department’s handling of the case, and more, look inside for Geragos’ stern reflection on the case details to date:
Despite scoring a string of hits in the late noughties and early 2010’s (including the #1 single ‘Down’ in 2009′), Jay Sean has been relatively quiet over the past few years – most notably after nabbing headlines for suing former label home, Cash Money, for unpaid royalties.. Now, despite years of touring and remaining an international force, five years have separated U.S. fans from new music from the singer/songwriter.
That’s all ready to change with the 37-year-old’s new Gucci Mane-assisted single, “With You.” Featuring a prominent sample of female R&B group Blaque’s 1999 hit, “808,” Sean croons:
“I’m saying yeah / I just can’t get my mind off you / After the sh*t that we’ve been through / I just can’t stop f*cking with you.”
Is it enough to get Jay back to the top of charts? Listen inside and tell us:

2 Chainz surprised us when he announced he’d not only made up with Pop princess Ariana Grande after publicly accusing her of stealing his ‘pink trap house’ idea (click here to read more), but the two had collaborated on a new tune, ‘Rule the World.’
Featured on his new album, ‘Rap or Go to the League,’ ‘World’ – which samples R&B singer Amerie‘s inaugural 2002 hit ‘Why Don’t We Fall In Love’ – has been getting a lot of love from critics and fans alike. The positive reviews certainly helped aid the decision to make the song an official single from the set, which was preceded by news an accompanying music video had been shot in its support.
Now, with a wrap on filming, the Grammy-winning rapper has lifted the lid on the visual’s concept and appended the revelation with a teaser for the clip. See it inside:
