Janet Jackson, Shonda Rimes, Viola Davis, Kerry Washington, and T.I. are just a few of many big names who have poured out support for actor/singer Jussie Smollett after That Grape Juice exclusively broke news he was physically attacked early Tuesday morning (January 29) by racist and homophobic assailants.

Taking to social media to not only lend their well-wishes but also raise awareness about hate crimes, Smollett’s fans, friends, and admirers made their stances known and voices heard as they respectively called for justice for Jussie.

Just like that one tweet set the Internet ablaze with reports of a leaked list of purported 2019 Grammy winners.

The tweet – which also included a video claiming to show all the winners for the upcoming Grammy Awards next month – named Lady Gaga’s “Shallow” as the ceremony’s Song of the Year recipient, Cardi B’s “I Like It” as Record of the Year winner, and Album of the Year honor going to R&B songstress H.E.R.
As fans of the alleged losers began making their disappointment known, a spokesperson for the Recording Academy opted to shut down the hoopla by releasing an official statement.  Read it inside:

‘On & On’ takes on new meaning as neo-soulstress Erykah Badu‘s involved in yet another Twitter tussle thanks to her recent feather-ruffling comments on actor/singer Jussie Smollett.

As we reported here, Smollett was hospitalized after a heinous homophobic attack in Chicago recently.  When fellow celebs and fans alike took to Twitter to voice their support for Smollett and outrage against the perpetrators, Badu used her social media platform to say:

‘Empire’ star Jussie Smollett has received an enduring wave of support from celebrities and fans alike after That Grape Juice exclusively broke the story of his vicious attack by homophobic and racist assailants.

As the FBI investigates what they have deemed a “possible hate crime,” many of Smollett’s supporters – including ‘Empire’ director Lee Daniels and the show’s network home, FOX – have vowed to offer assistance with the 35-year-old’s return to health and raise awareness about violence against the LGBT community.
