Much like her ‘What Men Want’ co-star Taraji P. Henson, singer Erykah Badu may be currently embroiled in controversy for recently implying a defense of embattled singer R. Kelly after the premiere of the explosive Lifetime documentary, ‘Surviving R. Kelly,’ but that hasn’t stopped her from trying to clear her name of the muck.

As we reported here, the Grammy winner saw her name listed among the likes of Lady Gaga, Mary J. Blige, Questlove, and more as prospective interviewees who declined to have any dealings with the documentary.  When a fan recently brought this to the ‘On & On’ singer’s attention, she not only denied knowing Kelly personally she also denied ever being contacted by the creators of the film.  Once its producer, Dream Hampton, got word of Badu’s statement the two clashed in a back-and-forth on Twitter.

Taraji P. Henson added her name to a growing list of celebrities who have been harshly criticized for offering a controversial stance on R. Kelly since the premiere of Lifetime’s damning documentary, ‘Surviving R. Kelly’ (which features testimonies from victims who allege sexual and emotional abuse at the R&B singer’s hands).

When the ‘Empire’ actress took to social media (in a now deleted post) to compare the high number of hashtags containing #MuteRKelly versus the “seemingly low” number of posts containing #MuteWeinstein or #MuteHarveyWeinstein, it was believed she was implying the disparity was due to Kelly receiving unfair treatment.

The result?  A backlash ensued that prompted her to follow-up with a clarification of sorts.  See what we mean:

As we reported here, Monday night (January 21) brought with it the premiere of ‘Celebrity Big Brother:  Celebrity Edition’ featuring the likes of R&B superstars Tamar Braxton and Kandi Burruss.

The divas, both part of 2017’s mega-successful ‘Great Xscape Tour’ (which saw Braxton open for Burruss’ group Xscape), were rumored to be at odds after a stunt the ‘Love & War’ singer pulled backstage at the trek’s pit stop in Atlanta (click here to read more).  Those rumors were recently confirmed as one of a number of reasons the ladies had a fallout after each hit the show’s “confessional” to respectively dish on their history.

If that wasn’t enough, Braxton – also beefing with another of the tour’s billed stars (singer Monica) – caught some flack for how she addressed the R&B vet in the very same confessional.  Look inside to see and hear exactly what was said:

Cardi B’s been no stranger to showing off her assets in music videos and on stages over the years, but most recently – after a highly publicized Twitter tussle with political commentator and TV personality Tomi Lahren (click here to read more) – conservatives have turned up the heat on the ‘Bodak Yellow’ performer by painting her a “hypocrite” for her female empowering views.

Most notably pointing to her involvement in the City Girls‘Twerk’ video, which features scantily clad women from all over the world competing in a “twerk-a-thon” for a prize of $25,000, the Grammy-nominated rapstress was recently called out by Stephanie Hamill, a conservative Washington, D.C. video columnist.
