ABC hit ‘How To Get Away With Murder’ is back for a firework filled-fifth season.

The legal drama, which stars Emmy winner Viola Davis, follows a group of ambitious law students and their brilliant criminal defence professor.

Last season brought with it a countless list of shocking twists and the newest run is already delivering a whole lot more. Particularly with the addition of Rome Flynn.

Ariana Grande‘s ‘7 Rings’ already proving itself quite the fire starter in a number of contexts.

On the commercial front it’s nothing short of an out-of-the-box hit as it jetted to the top of iTunes just minutes after its release (where it remains as of time reported).  Critically, the response has been generally positive as analyzers and social media commentators alike laud the Trap-inspired Tommy Brown-produced cut for Grande’s stylized rap-singing.

But, as that praise rings in, detractors have wasted no time making their voices heard.  While some wield criticism of ‘inauthenticity’ and ‘culture vulture,’ some allege the singer straight up swiped the song’s flow from the likes of Soulja Boy (as we reported here).  One such accuser, rapstress Princess Nokia, has opted to bring attention to her own claim of ‘swagger-jacking’ by playing ‘Rings’ alongside her own tune, 2017’s ‘Mine.’

Aunty Gladys Knight says you will put some respeck on her name!

The music icon, dubbed the ‘Empress of Soul,’ lent a royal clapback to detractors who slammed her decision to sing the national anthem at Super Bowl LIII.  As we reported here, Knight – much like the game’s Halftime Show performers Travis Scott and Big Boi – was on the receiving end of insults for participating in the NFL-sanctioned event given the league’s longstanding allegations of racially charged offenses (stemming from controversy highlighted by protests performed quarterback Colin Kaepernick).

Once the 74-year-old got wind of the harsh criticism being sent her way for accepting the gig, she took to press to offer some clarification and hush the haters.  Look inside:

Concerns continue to grow for talkshow maven Wendy Williams. 

The former shock-jock has been off-air since last month, after “dislocating her shoulder.”

Several promoted returns were delayed (often with just days notice); the latest being just now.

See, Williams – whose show has been fronted by a series of guests this week – was due back in her famed pink seat next week. However, in a joint statement from “The Hunter Family” and the show’s producers, it’s been confirmed that her break has been extended due to further health concerns and a hospitalization.
