British R&B sensation RAY BLK has been creating all the right waves since winning BBC Sound Of 2017 – the first unsigned act to do so.
Now, after signing a lucrative deal with Universal’s Island Records, the soul-filled songstress has unleashed first single from the union, ‘Run Run.’
A raw and resonating, the song was penned from personal experience, addresses the gun and knife crime epidemic afflicting London.
Speaking on the track, the 25-year-old said:
“The stories from Run Run are real life events that I have experienced. I wrote the song as a reminder to everyone listening, not to become a product of their environment. They have the choice to better themselves and rise above their struggles. Ultimately, I want my fans to know that there’s a big world out there with many opportunities and to believe in themselves.”
