As legends go, few come as seasoned or respected as Charlie Wilson.
Indeed, over the course of his illustrious career, he’s served as the frontman of the iconic Gap Band and achieved ample solo success with hits such as ‘There Goes My Baby’ and latest album ‘It To Win It.’
He’s also found favor amongst the newer names of today, many of whom affectionately call him Uncle Charlie. Included are the likes of Snoop Dogg, Justin Timberlake, and Bruno Mars – the latter of whom many are eager for Wilson to collaborate with.
And that wish may very well come to fruition.
That Grape Juice caught up with Wilson at British Summertime Hyde Park ahead of his performance and quizzed him on the matter. And get this, he says that he and Bruno already begun work on a team-up. Hit ‘PLAY’ to find out more!
Normani may be rocketing up the charts with hit ‘Love Lies,’ but she’s also diligently working on her next move – her debut album.
Easily one of the year’s most anticipated in Pop-Urban circles, the set will see the 22-year-old step into the spotlight as a solo artiste following the hiatus of her initial base Fifth Harmony.
Recent months have seen Normani dish on planned studio sessions with the likes of Missy Elliott and Stargate.
And while details are still under wraps, it’s become apparent that the songstress is also in the lab with Danja and Boi-1da.
The name of the beautiful young lady in the image above? Nia Wilson.
Last week, as she and her sister boarded a train, she was attacked and murdered by a white supremacist…the latest in a horrifically long line of tragedies the black community has faced because of white supremacy and its subscribers.
Condemning the attack? The actress Anne Hathaway who believes that white people cannot call themselves decent and kind people if they aren’t actively fighting the racism many say they are against.
In 1998, Madonna- then a new mother- poured her mind, body and soul into ‘Ray of Light’, the poignant Pop album many agree is her magnum opus.
Filled with moving stories delivered on Trip-Hop, Electronic and Ambient beats, the set saw the singer document her feelings towards fame’s fleeting and soulless nature (Drowned World) her longing for real love (Frozen) and the loss of her mother(Mer Girl).
With all of this mind, fans may not know whether to react with rage or glee once they discover that a number of the album’s demos have surfaced online.
‘Lose Control’ collaborators – Ciara, Missy Elliott, & Fatman Scoop – made their respective fan bases do just that with their unexpected reunion aboard Ci’s latest hit, ‘Level Up.’
The cut, already gaining quite the traction by its lonesome thanks to the viral response to the accompanying #LevelUpChallenge (click here to read more on that), is set to receive quite the boost thanks to this equally bopping remix.
