March 2017 saw the self-proclaimed Queen of Rap Nicki Minaj dethrone Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin for the Billboard Hot 100 throne.

Surpassing the R&B legend’s whopping 73 career-long entries on the tally with her three songs ‘No Frauds,’ ‘Changed It,’ and ‘Regret In Your Tears,’ Minaj left Franklin and her nearest competitors – Taylor Swift and Rihanna – in the dust among females [on that particular tally]. The 8 months that followed only cemented the rapstress’s place in history books as she added charting singles with the likes of Jason Derulo, Katy Perry, Yo Gotti, Future, and more to her Hot 100 resume.

Fast forward to this week, the Harajuku Barbie hits another milestone as her contribution to ‘Motorsport,’ her newest tune with rising rapstress Cardi B and hip hop chart-toppers Migos, sees the Grammy-nominated femcee nab another top 20 – a feat that makes her the first female artist in history to enter 80 charting titles on the singles chart.

Tuck in below to find out exactly where the tune debuted:

Drake continues to cast a multi-platinum shadow over the likes of Justin Bieber, Chris Brown and Jason Derulo.

Standing tall as only of the only artists to enjoy success on streaming and pure sale fronts alike, the rapper has discovered that streams garnered by songs on his ‘More Life‘ release have crossed the 1 billion mark.

With this, the set spends its third week atop the Billboard 200 with 136,000 equivalent album units, extending the star’s lead as Pop and Hip-Hop’s reigning champ.

Billboard adds:

The set’s 22 tracks have now generated more than 1 billion on-demand audio streams in the U.S.: 1.07 billion through the week ending April 6, according to Nielsen Music. The latest tracking week pushed it past the billion threshold, as it collected another 167 million streams in the frame.

What does Drake have that the others  (his male contemporaries) don’t?

What are Your Top 5 Songs of The Moment?

If you thought 2016 was a good year for Drake, your jaw will drop when you see how great his 2017 is going (post-Grammy snubs).

The rapper unleashed his latest project, ‘More Life,’ last week and has been steamrolling the competition since.  In addition to nabbing the year’s best first week sales with the “playlist album,” snatching the honor from Ed Sheeran‘s blockbuster album, ‘Divide,’ Drizzy dethroned himself by topping ‘Views’ for “best 24 hour and 1 week streaming…ever.”

Now, after all of that, he’s left his Young Money mentor, Lil Wayne, in the rearview with a jaw-dropping record.  Find out what inside:

Just two weeks ago Nicki Minaj set the net ablaze by delivering not one, but three doses of clapback as a long-awaited reply to Remy Ma‘s ‘Shether’ in the form of ‘No Frauds,’ ‘Changed It,’ and ‘Regret In Your Tears.’ While ‘Frauds’ and ‘Changed’ housed the most direct responses to Ma, the latter is considered by many to be a shot fired at her former beau Meek Mill.

Regardless, the trio of tunes got people talking and fast.  In fact, within hours of their releases they all zoomed to the top of digital sales charts, with ‘Frauds’ finding itself at #1 on the digital pop charts.  Yet, while the victory would later assist Minaj in seeing her name enter history books for most Hot 100 entries ever among women one week later, the news was accompanied by word the songs all simultaneously took a nose dive off sales tallies.

In a surprising move that will undoubtedly be reflected on refreshed charts next week, all three tunes – ‘Frauds,’ ‘Changed,’ and ‘Tears’ – are no nowhere to be seen on iTunes top 100 less than two weeks after their respective premieres [as of time reported].

chris-brown-royalty-thatgrapejuice

In a climate dominated by Adele, Chris Brown‘s recent release ‘Royalty’ was hailed a triumph after debuting at #3 on the Billboard 200 with sales of 164,000.

Considering this was a feat achieved with no hit single in sight, the project’s firm holding within the upper region of the US Top 20 is as impressive as it is surprising.

Suffice to say, it’s clear that the Virginia native has a loyal fanbase, who are willing, ready, and able to make their presence felt at retail.

However, a glance at the broader scope of Brown’s commercial standing, highlights why it’s arguably in his best interest to not revel in the momentary momentum but to instead remould his approach.

Follow us as we lay out why after the jump…
