That Grape Juice was in the house at the 2010 Capital FM Jingle Bell Ball this past weekend. Held at London’s renown O2 Arena, the two-day extravaganza, which was sponsored by Windows 7, saw performances from the likes of the Black Eyed Peas, Nicole Scherzinger, Kylie Minogue, Alexandra Burke, Akon, Jason Derulo, JLS, among others.

Stationed backstage amidst other select media outlets, we caught up with a host of stars – including (yet not limited to):

* Alexandra Burke – who spoke to us about her plans for the US in 2011 and more.

* Jason Derulo – who appeared somewhat defensive about album sales.

* Nicole Scherzinger – who shared details about her forthcoming solo album.

* JLS – who, also, spoke on their American invasion.

* Jay Sean – who responded to critique that he had abandoned his Asian roots musically.

* Akon – who spoke about the controversy surrounding the new Michael Jackson album, whether there is more material to come from his sessions with the King of Pop, and which Destiny’s Child diva he is set to collaborate with.

Burgeoning Pop star Jason Derulo turned in a surprisingly solid performance of new single ‘Ridin’ Solo’ on BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge this week.

I say ‘surprisingly’ as with the song being so dire (shudder’s at the recorded version’s pronunciation of solo – ‘soooloaaw’), it was doubtful even a decent live performance could save this one. Thankfully, Derulo proved me wrong, with this acoustic take on the song. Check out the performance after the jump…

The future seems to be growing ever-brighter for newcomer Jason Derulo. Hot on the heels of his two top-10 smashes on the Billboard Hot 100, the 20 year old has confirmed that he is set to begin work on Madonna‘s upcoming new album. Speaking to US Weekly, Deruoo said:

I’m about to work with Madonna, and I’ve been watching her for years. I would love to be a part of another reinvention. She’s been able to reinvent herself time and time again. I’ll probably be part of that.

The ‘In My Head’ singer joins the likes of David Guetta, who has also been tapped to work on the 51 year old’s project. If Deruolo and Guetta are any indication of the sound ol’ Madge is going for this go round, a Dance/Pop record may be in the working for her. That aside, this is perhaps the best look yet for the budding singer/songwriter – who more likely than not will be penning tracks for the album, as opposed to singing on it.

Tidbit: In other Derulo news, he also confirmed he is working on new material for his own sophomore album, which could be out as early as November (his debut hit stores earlier this month). Just as well, as that first LP was just not cutting it…

Rising star Jason Derulo stopped by The Ellen Degeneres Show to perform current single ‘In My Head’. Check out how the 20 year old fared above…

Hmm. Though not bad, the Warner Records artist has some way to go before he can even begin to be held in the same regard as the Chris Brown’s and Usher’s he has been prematurely compared to. Still, it appears he may just be afforded the timeline to do so; ‘In My Head’ currently sits at #9 on the Billboard 100, while Derulo’s self-titled debut is set to debut at #2 on the Billboard 200 next week.
