The new year has proven itself fertile ground for the kick off of a number of new shows, many of which have been received with open arms, eyes, and ears (if their ratings are anything to judge by).

Two series – ‘Grown-ish’ (spinoff of ABC’s hit comedy ‘Black-ish’ starring Yara Shahidi) and FOX’s reality singing competition ‘The Four’ (led by Sean “Diddy” Combs, DJ Khaled, Meghan Trainor, Charlie Walk, and hosted by Fergie) – scribble their names on to the list of premiering series to have been greeted with at least a moderate welcome since the year rang in.

It’s been six years since Keri Hilson released her last album and, in the time since then, the songbird has largely shunned the spotlight.

Promises of new music were made, but fans are still waiting.

Now, in an emotional appearance on The Steve Harvey Show, the singer-songwriter sheds light on why.

Hilson sat down with psychic medium Reginald Lewis, who tapped into worries that she later expanded on.

In the candid segment, she says she “hit rock bottom” and revealed that she never intended for her break from music to be more than one year.

Mark those calendars because American Idol returns on March 11th!

And the show’s new network, ABC, are revving up the hype machine.

H&M felt the fire and fury from folk all over the world yesterday when an ad of theirs surfaced featuring a black model wearing a hoody with the words “coolest monkey in the jungle.”

Shocked and dismayed, millions took to social media to express their disgust at the racially insensitivity.

Said critics included The Weeknd, who announced that he’s severing ties with the company as a direct result.
