Award-winning songstress K. Michelle is bidding R&B adieu with her final album of the genre, ‘I’m the Problem.’

Released Friday (September 22), the 19-track set – the follow-up to 2020’s ‘All Monsters Are Human‘ – roars onto digital shelves after the unveiling of a slew of music videos in it support including the #1 hit ‘Scooch,’ ‘Tennessee,’ ‘Wherever the D May Land,’ ‘You,’ and more.

Bolstered by a North American tour named after the LP, ‘Problem’ is designed to tide the singer’s beloved fans (affectionately called #Rebels) over until she puts the final touches on her highly teased, forthcoming Country effort (due in the coming months).

Steve Lacy has carved out quite the space for himself in the music industry, recently rocketing to #1 with mainstream breakthrough ‘Bad Habit.’

And while much of the spotlight has been centered on his artistry, his sexuality was scrutinized during the promotion of his debut project ‘Steve Lacy’s Demo.’

Casually speaking with fans on Tumblr at the time, he was quizzed on whether he would date a man. His reply, “sure, why not,” ignited a wave of headlines to the tune of “Steve Lacy Comes Out as Bisexual.”

The flames were intensified in a less favorable direction when, in a further response on the same thread, Lacy (whose Mom is Afro-American and Father is d Filipino) said the following about dating Black men:

“I’m just not attracted to Black boys. … I still love them and want them to do well in life, we just won’t date.”

In the time since, the attention of the masses has been more centered on Lacy’s musical output.

However, in a new Variety feature, he doesn’t shy away from the topic at large.

When it comes to Recording industry Association of America (RIAA) stats, few can hold a candle to the accomplishments of Pop titan Katy Perry.

As if being the first artist to see three singles certified Diamond wasn’t enough (meaning the tunes sold the equivalence of 10 million apiece in the United States), she was the first American-born female act to sell over 100 million digital singles in the country.  Those achievements are barely the tip of the iceberg.

Now, despite the nonperformance of her last two studio albums ‘Witness‘ (2017) and ‘Smile‘ (2020), Perry still has reason to smile thanks to the ongoing success of their predecessor (and her undisputed magnum opus): 2010’s ‘Teenage Dream.’
