With Kelly Rowland still hard away at work on her third studio album, particulars about the project have remained closely guarded. During a recent autograph signing, Pop star Kelly Rowland revealed that the video for her new mainstream single ‘Rose Coloured Glasses’ was shot in 3D. The Destiny’s Child alumni was coy when further questioned on the particulars of the video, only confirming that the recently wrapped clip is set to première shortly. It’s awesome to see Kelly championing an area untreaded by other artists before her (how many 3D music videos have you seen?); particularly when considering the lyrical content of the song.

That said, it is imperative that a video for ‘Grown Woman’ is being cooked up too; for the Ne-Yo penned song is FAR out-performing ‘Rose Coloured Glasses’; and in keeping it 100% is clearly the ‘HIT’ of the two.

With the buzz for Kelly Rowland‘s new material at all-time high, the 29 year old has revealed that her 3rd studio album will now be hitting stores on October 26th.  The record had previously been set to hit retailers on September 21st, however was postponed due to the Destiny’s Child singer hitting the studio with some of the industry’s biggest hitmakers.

Speaking of which, Rowland also confirmed that label-mate Akon will be producing on the as yet untitled album. The singer/songwriter  /producer joins the all-star cast who have collaborated with Rowland on the record – inclusive being Tricky Stewart, Ne-Yo, David Guetta, Rico Love, Bangladesh, Jim Jonsin, Ester Dean, Dr Luke and Stargate.

With Kelly Rowland‘s new single ‘Grown Woman’ currently blowing up on Urban radio, the Destiny’s Child alumni is wasting no time with the song’s accompanying video.

During an interview with 100.3 The Beat of Philly radio station yesterday, the Grammy winner revealed that she is set to shoot the video for the Ne-Yo penned/Stargate produced cut next week. When probed further on what folk can expect from the clip, Rowland remained tight-tipped, saying that “these days there is no element of surprise. (Folk) are gonna have to wait and see!” {Source}

It’s great to see that Kelly and her team appear to paying attention to what the masses are feeling; indeed ‘Grown Woman’ is receiving a great response both in the US and across the pond – something which bodes well for it being able to serve as the follow-up to ‘Commander’ in International territories.

In other Kelly news, while doing the radio rounds yesterday, she confirmed that the album will be released “this fall”. She purposefully avoided mentioning the previously reported September 21st date, due to her still recording.

Peep this new promotional shot of Kelly Rowland for her new single ‘Commander’.

The extended version of song, which serves as the first International release from Rowland’s 3rd studio album, is currently sitting at #38 on the iTunes UK chart – a huge feat considering the radio edit of the song is several weeks off official release.

With several major UK appearances in the pipeline, including a performance of ‘Commander’ on The Graham Norton Show next Monday, the hotter than July track looks set to be a massive hit here.

We’ve been receiving many an email about a new Kelly Rowland cut which surfaced over the weekend, in the form of the Ne-Yo penned ‘Grown Ass Woman’. Interestingly enough, though, we’d heard the track hours before it seemingly started doing the rounds – opting not to post it due to what ( at the time) seemed like salicious leaks of Ms. Kelly’s new material.

However, it has today been confirmed that the Stargate produced track will now be serviced as Rowland’s new Stateside single instead of ‘Shake Them Haters Off’ (which may not actually make the album’s final tracklist). ‘Grown Ass Woman’ goes for adds on US Urban radio on June 29th.

A sassy, mid-tempo, which packs more of a punch lyrically than it does on the production tip, ‘Grown Ass Woman’ may just be that hit that Rowland has been seeking on home shores for sometime now. As much as it pains me to do, this does bare similarities to pal Beyonce’s ‘Irreplaceable‘; unsurprising in that it is the same team behind both songs. Not to be taken as a means of pitting the women against each other, the song’s comparability could very bode well for Rowland, for like ‘Irreplacebale’, ‘Grown Ass Woman’ boasts many a hook, is infectious, and radio food if I’ve ever heard it. Here’s hoping it does the trick.
