Alongside pouring out the latest in Pop culture, here at That Grape Juice we’ve long championed the unchampioned and celebrate the uncelebrated.

Hence, with this week bringing with it the 10th anniversary of Christina Aguilera‘s ‘Lotus’ album, we feel it pertinent to toast the criminally underrated project.

Released on November 13, 2012, the LP admittedly arrived sans a distinguished, overarching theme. A first (in a long while) for an Xtina LP at the time. It lacked the deeply personal skew of a ‘Stripped,’ the soulful nod to eras past that both ‘Back 2 Basics’ and ‘Burlesque’ brought us, and it largely did away with the experimental buoyance of ‘Bionic.’

Still, from our vantage point, it was a wholly enjoyable jukebox of jams, with its sole sins being questionable marketing and arriving in a climate that was dominated by other Pop divas.

Standalone, it houses some of Aguilera’s strongest tracks in years – a number of which would be well-placed in her ever-and-always setlist of essentials.

Jordin Sparks may have seen her impressive run on the current season of ‘Dancing with the Stars’ end with an unexpected elimination October 31, but the diva is hoping to dance her way back onto music charts as consolation.

Announced just a day after her axing from ‘Stars,’ the new song – titled ‘Stop the Feeling’ – is a dancefloor-ready, Michael Jackson-reminiscent groove that suggests the diva was really inspired by her time on the dance competition.

“I can’t stop this feelin’ / If it’s even for a minute / I’m tryna be tame / Oh-oh / Please don’t stop this feelin’ / If it’s even for a minute / Boy, won’t be the same,” she wails on the Keith Harris-produced cut.

After ample teasing on Instagram and TikTok, you can finally hear ‘Stop’ in full inside.

‘Dark Horse’ hitmaker Katy Perry wasn’t the only diva who saddled up to conquer the Country charts recently.

Just weeks ahead of her stunning showing of ‘Where We Started’ alongside Country star Thomas Rhett at the 2022 CMAs on Wednesday (November 9), GRAMMY-winning songstress Ciara tackled the CMT “Artists of the Year” ceremony alongside Walker Hayes to perform the remix to his hit, ‘Y’all Life.’

“Turn that bass up, shawty, show ’em how | Y’all, we raise up and, y’all, we goin’ down, down, baby | Yo’ street in my Bronco | I’m a talk to ya real slow | Said where the crawdads crawl | Said living that y’all life, y’all,” the dynamic duo sang at the show.

And while Cici made the genre-bending performance look easy, behind the scenes footage proves a lot of hard work went into bringing it to life.

Stormzy has unlocked ‘Firebabe’ – the latest single from his forthcoming album ‘This Is What I Mean.’

The British Rap royal premiered the track alongside its accompanying music video, which was directed by  Edem Wornoo.

Piercing and potent, ‘Firebabe’ – which follows lead single ‘Hide & Seek’ – finds the MC bearing his emotions in earnest.

Speaking on the song (which was produced by George Moore and features additional vocals by Stormzy’s 0207 Def Jam labelmate Debbie, Sampha, and Jacob Collier), the star said:

“Debbie, George [Moore] and I got in the studio together and it was the most beautiful moment. It was a session I’ll never forget, for the rest of my life. It was extremely special and everyone in the room understood that. We were making something that hopefully, God willing, lives forever. Something that has soul and feeling and it came from a really pure place. We took a truth and made some art from it.”
