Queen of Pop Madonna‘s ‘Rebel Heart’ era may have been accompanied by her worst-selling album ever and lowest grossing tour in over a decade, but that hasn’t stopped her (in true Madge fashion) from still emerging a winner.

As previously reported, this time last week the ‘Living For Love’ singer saw her name listed in history books as “the highest grossing female artist in touring history” as her current effort, the ‘Rebel Heart’ tour, helped push her career-long gross past the $1.2 billion mark.

Joining an exclusive group of hitmakers (all-male) who have grossed more than $1 billion over their collective efforts (Rolling Stones, U2, Bruce Springsteen, Bon Jovi, and former nemesis Elton John), Madonna – with the inclusion of receipts from the tour’s last stop in Australia – can now boast leadership of the entire pack of solo artists.

Nicki Minaj plays no games, as such it’s little surprise that her security team aren’t expected to either.

However, when a member of her team was spotted on his phone during her show in Dubai last night, Onika took a no nonsense approach to rectifying the matter.

Departing her dancers, who were getting their entire lives to ‘Feeling Myself,’ the rapper demanded his phone and disposed of it before returning to complete the choreography.

justin bieber vevo record history

Much like fellow chart-topper Rihanna, the last year has seen Justin Bieber‘s name and the phrase “breaks (or sets) the record for…” in print seemingly every other week.

In addition to being the youngest person to ever debut at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, breaking the record for most Hot 100 entries in a single week, and only God knows what else, now Bieber can lay claim to yet another title in history books thanks to his Beliebers.

Despite a series of false starts and lukewarm received singles, Gwen Stefani‘s celebrity (see:  highly publicized romance with country singer Blake Shelton, stints on ‘The Voice,’ divorce, and more) is proving itself fuel enough to launch her third album ‘This Is What the Truth Feels Like.’

Yet, while early predictions had it the pop/ska-soaked set would lend Gwen her lowest first week sales to date, they also reported she’d lead next week’s Billboard 200 with album equivalent sales of 68,000-73,000.  Ousting ‘Work’ wailer Rihanna from the top spot, refreshed reports indicate Stefani will steal the #1 position with an amount even higher than previously projected.

Find out her new predicted sum below:

born this way retro rewind gaga

Readers of That Grape Juice know what avid music lovers we are – especially of hits past.

So, as our retrospective features ‘From the Vault’ and ‘TGJ Replay’  allow us the chance to re-spin the gems and jams of yesterday of one artist, our newest feature Chart Rewind – a variation of our current Retro Rewind assay – accedes salutes to an entire era of music history.

This week we jet back to 2011 to recount the then-history making reign of ‘Born This Way’ – the leading single from Lady Gaga‘s highly anticipated sophomore album of the same name. Giving the singer her third chart-topper on the Hot 100, ‘Born’ debuted at #1 with a whopping 448,000 sold its first week.  Temporarily giving Gaga claim to the ‘best-selling first week of any single by a female’ title (later broken by Taylor Swift), the tune would go on to dominate the Hot 100 for an impressive 6 weeks from late February to mid-April 2011.

Despite spurring much chatter with its controversial video and later inciting a feud with Queen of Pop Madonna for claims of ‘copying’ and being ‘reductive’ in nature, ‘Born This Way’ remains a fan favorite of Gaga and one of her most successful releases to date.  According to Billboard, the song sold over 4 million copies to date in the U.S. alone.

Tuck in below to relive the magic of ‘BTW’ and see where some of your other faves from the day landed on the Hot 100 this week in 2011…

ariana grande thatgrapejuice mura masa

While rumors of a feud with former tour mate Justin Bieber brew, donut-licking diva Ariana Grande appears to have left a sour taste in the mouth of yet another multi-talented musician.

Indeed, just a year after being slammed for claims of copycatting, now British producer Mura Masa is coming forward with allegations of infringement against the songstress.  Asserting her new song ‘Be Alright,’ the follow-up to her most recent top 10 hit ‘Dangerous Woman’ (from her third album of the same name), is a ‘rip off’ of one of his better known tunes, ‘Firefly,’ the producer got her faithful #Arianators all riled up with his short, but not-so-sweet tweets.

Hear the tunes below and compare:  did Ari jack Masa’s tune?  We await your weigh in…

Kmichelle-2016-tgj-beyonce

K. Michelle just may have ‘More Issues Than Vogue,’ as her new album (in stores today) suggests.

Indeed, while it’s been awhile since she has been engrossed in a highly publicized beef (see:  Azealia Banks, Tamar Braxton, SWV’s Coko, Jaguar Wright, and more), now it seems the ‘Love & Hip Hop’ beauty has hopped back to the top of headlines for a very public slamming of fellow R&B powerhouse Kelly Price.

Calling the ‘As We Lay‘ songstress an ‘ugly demon,’ Michelle took to radio today to discuss the details of her not-so-publicized (until now) beef with Price.  While dishing, she also casually mentioned that…umm…Beyonce‘s new album will drop tonight.

Get into (what we hope) is exciting news below:
