With the deluxe edition of the ‘Hell’s Kitchen’ (Original Broadway Cast Recording) album landing on digital shelves on Monday (May 19), Alicia Keys wasted little time powering down the promo trail in its support.
Days after unveiling a 2025 edition of her 2003 hit ‘If I Ain’t Got You‘ revamped by R&B veteran Tank and rising songstress Amanda Reid (both stars of the current Broadway run of ‘Hell’s Kitchen’), Keys tapped Reid to duet on the new tune ‘The River.’
“Drowning sound of plain children / I’m alone here in a crowd of seven million / I know there’s more to life than this / ‘Cause something’s calling me / So I follow the river,” the sing on the stirring number.
As if gifting the piano-driven cut the video treatment wasn’t enough to send her dedicated fans into a frenzy, Keys gave the song the live treatment on the season 27 finale of ‘The Voice‘ on Tuesday (May 20).
