Welcome back to TGJ Replay!

Designed much like our ‘Retro Rewind’ and ‘From the Vault’ features, ‘Replay’ is That Grape Juice‘s newest reflective segment to act as a written quest to re-spin the gems and jams of yesterday. Unlike its TGJ retrospective predecessors, ‘Replay’ looks to dust off and showcase entire albums (and eras) from a library of pop and Urban pop music hits.

Now, as the world celebrates the 34th birthday of music icon Beyonce, there’s no better time to ode her with a salute in the form of a “replay” of her sophomore album ‘BDay.’

“This is the album women need to hear.  It’s for all the women out there that need to hear something that will give them strength and empowerment.  There’s a song for everyone on this album – women in love, women who need to get out of love, women who are vulnerable, and women in every aspect of a relationship.

While Kelly Rowland has spent much of the year out of the spotlight following the birth of son Titan last November, the Grammy winning songstress hasn’t been inactive. Indeed, not only has she begun production on her hotly anticipated BET talent search ‘Chasing Destiny,’ she has also been working diligently on her fifth solo album.

In regard to the latter, many have been wondering which label will house the as yet untitled set, after Rowland bid adieu to former recording home Republic last year.

We’ve been doing our homework, and it appears Ms. Kelly may be heading to Roc Nation.

He’s the criminally underrated artist responsible for flying the flag for British music overseas and introducing the world to the star that is Rita Ora.

Now, the groundbreaking force that is Craig David has set his sights on  duet with Drake.

The entertainer shared:

David has sold over 6 million albums worldwide and like the ‘Take Care‘ singer is singed to Universal Music.

In 2009 and 2010 the pair threw their support behind the aforementioned Ora by placing her on releases they launched in these years.

After earning its official unveiling live during the kickoff of her world tour of the same name, ‘Unbreakable’ – the title track from Janet Jackson’s long awaited new album – finally got an HQ debut today.

The follow-up to the R&B #1 single ‘No Sleeep,’ the Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis-produced new tune comes as a heartfelt ode to her legion of diehard fans and joins a mix of must-hear tunes found on the ‘Unbreakable’ album (due October 2nd).

‘Coffee’ crooner Miguel is giving fans tastes of his new music in some very unconventional ways with the latest coming in the form of a partnership with Make Room – a campaign designed to “end the rental housing crisis in America.”

Via their “Concerts for the 1st” initiative, the campaign hosts acoustic concerts in the living rooms of families struggling to pay their rent.

Rihanna‘s alleged love of animal fur is the reason her perfume launch was disturbed by animal rights activists recently.

The star was unveiling her ‘Riri’ scent in New York City when said activists made their way to its launch event to teach the ‘Pon De Replay’ singer a lesson.

We at TGJ are itching to say #TGIT!

And, on September 24th, with the new season premieres of ABC’s dynamic Thursday night lineup of ‘Grey’s Anatomy,’ ‘Scandal’ and ‘How to Get Away with Murder,’ we’ll finally get our wishes.
