However, the LP wasn’t the only female rap release she helped to promote on the hit talk show, accidentally naming a smash hit released launched by another femcee during a brief exchange with Tamar Braxton.

Fans may remember the twosome’s tumultuous relationship and its consequent private and public battles (including accusations of domestic abuse from both parties), now it seems the DJ – now married to former Lil Wayne fling Toya Wright – is reopening old wounds to take new jabs at Michelle.

Before Azealia Banks weighed in on her supposed use and abuse of Black culture on ‘Hot 97’, ‘Crooked Smile’ rapper J. Cole made his way to Power 105.1 to explain his recent criticism of Australian superstar Iggy Azalea, whom he compared to Elvis Presley here.

There, he revealed that the remarks he made about the rapper wasn’t criticism at all, billing them an “observation.”

What he deserved?

The link between her success as a Caucasian female MC and efforts made by corporations to sell African-American culture to audiences more likely to respond to her than an actual African-America…even if said African-American is more talented.

Miguel is the latest artist to embrace the “no advanced warning” approach to the roll-out of new music.

The ‘Adorn’ singer has spent much of 2014 working on the follow-up to his sophomore album ‘Kaleidoscope Dreams’, which hit stores in 2012.

And while it’s presently unknown if the three new songs which comprise the mini-set tie into a meatier album, what is certain is that the cuts – christened ‘NWA’, ‘Hollywood Dreams’, and ‘Coffee’ – are ready to taste after the jump…
