Details on Janet Jackson‘s new album may remain under wraps, but events that occurred today made it impossible for her rival Madonna to do the same.

For, after Beyonce dropped a surprise album last December, this December has seen the Queen of Pop do the same…involuntarily. For unlike B, Madonna was just as surprised as her fans when she learned her new album had been “released” by leakers.

With Fifth Harmony‘s new single ‘Sledgehammer’ on the brink of becoming their biggest hit at radio thus far, the quintet are pushing hard with their promotional efforts.

Normani, Ally, Lauren, Camila, and Dinah delivered a solid showing of the Meghan Trainor penned track on the ‘VH1 Big Morning Buzz’ show today.

The performance and the single precede the release of the group’s debut album ‘Reflection’, which struts into stores on January 26th via Epic Records.

As two of today’s most powerful voices, it was fitting that Jessie J and Jennifer Hudson were tapped to perform on the finale of NBC smash ‘The Voice’.

Both ladies offered renditions of their respective new singles ‘Masterpiece’ and ‘It’s Your World’ and were joined by finalists Chris Jamison and Damien.

Pop queen Janet Jackson made a rare appearance today at UNICEF‘s Zaatari Refugee Camp in Syria.

Together with her billionaire husband Wissam Al Mana, the charitable chanteuse spent time with the children housed there.

Writing on Twitter, the ‘Feedback’ singer said:

Bruno Mars brought his electrifying brand of stage blazing to The Voice finale last night.

Armed with his equally arresting band, the superstar rocked the house with a dynamite performance of current smash ‘Uptown Funk’.

The Mark Ronson production, which the Grammy winner Mars features on as a guest vocalist, has already hit #1 in the UK and looks a near shoo-in for the top spot Stateside too.

Since Rita Ora‘s trailblazing debut two years ago, the Brit-bred star has always had a supporter in Beyonce.

The singer/actress, who is signed to Jay Z‘s Roc Nation imprint, was keen to show that her friendship with King B continues to flourish. Case, point this newly shared snap on Instagram.

Both ladies are gearing up for a busy 2015. Ora’s new single ‘Testosterone’ and US debut album are due soon, as is the ‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’ movie which she stars in. Musical plans for Bey are presently unknown, but her much touted Topshop line is due to hit retail in Q3/Q4 next year.

Nicki Minaj‘s ‘Bed of Lies‘ nabbed another live performance on national television yesterday evening, brought to life once again when the rapper delivered it live on ‘The Tonight Show.’

There, as part of an intense promo schedule that will see her appear on ‘The View‘ later this week, the performer also chopped it up with the show’s host Jimmy Fallon, who quizzed her on her life before superstardom, the success of her hit single ‘Anaconda‘ and her relationship with Beyonce.

For those of you who caught it, last week brought with it a wager between That Grape Juice editor & co-editor Sam and Rashad (me) that bet on Nicki Minaj‘s ‘The Pinkprint’ first week sales.

Sam was adamant that the Harajuku Barbie’s third album would see inaugural numbers of less than 200k, while I bet otherwise. Well, much to my chagrin (and Sam’s delight), we see how that ended (click here to see).

Though holding on to a strand of hope that the set’s revised numbers will see it at least tip toe over the 200k mark,  I’ll try not to be a sore loser, accept my defeat and, as promised, provide 1 lucky commenter a $15 Itunes gift card or a free copy of ‘The Pinkprint’ for Christmas.

361,120 music lovers took to retailers to pick up J. Cole‘s latest body of work in the last week, pushing him to the top of the ‘Billboard 200′ this week.

Named ‘2014 Forest Hills Drive‘, the album marks the rapper’s third consecutive #1 album, beating first week digits nabbed by his first two albums thanks to a unique promotional roll out which is likely to keep him in the Top 5 by the time next week’s charts roll by.
