“Don’t abandon Pop music.”

The above, as fans of Rap queen Nicki Minaj will already know, is the advice oft given to the star by radio personality Charlamagne Tha God, a long-time critic/supporter of her material.

Now, in a conversation with DJ Vlad of ‘VLAD TV’, the tastemaker ‘broke down’ his reasons for begging the lyricist not to bid adieu to cuts of the Pop persuasion, urging her to ignore the “silent majority” seeking to stifle her versatility.

Yesterday, fans of hit VH1 series ‘Love & Hip Hop Atlanta’ learned that cast member Benzino was in a critical condition after being shot at his mother’s funeral, weeks before the show returns to US screens.

Today, fresh-and undeniably shocking-details have emerged from the murder attempt, shedding light on the incident and the entertainer’s current medical state.

Fans are still up-in-arms over reports that Aaron McGruder – executive producer and creator of Adult Swim’s cult classic animation “The Boondocks“ – was not a part of the creative process for its long-awaited season 4 return (April 21).

Returning from a lengthy hiatus, news of the show’s reboot was greeted with approval from fans who were curious to know how McGruder would develop the characters for a new season.  However, according to our friends at The Root, Adult Swim shared a statement saying:

“This season was produced without the involvement of Aaron McGruder, when a mutually agreeable production schedule could not be determined.​”

McGruder took to Facebook to share his thoughts on leaving the characters he created over 20 years ago. His words below…

After a brief spell out of the spotlight, soulful songbird Jazmine Sullivan resurfaced in London last night.

The ‘Lions, Tigers, & Bears’ belter – who is gearing up to play a sell-out show at the UK’s KoKo this evening – was snapped at the capital’s most revered Nigerian eatery 805 Restaurant along with her team.

Sullivan, who has been working in earnest on her third studio album, is reportedly gearing up to unleash the set later this year. The as-yet-untitled collection follows 2010’s ‘Love Me Back’, the critically acclaimed LP that spawned gems such as ‘Holding You Down’ and ‘Don’t Make Me Wait’.

Needless to say, salivating at the prospect of what she’s been cooking up!
