24 years after playing Emily Franklin in Ross Brown‘s ‘Living Dolls’, Halle Berry eyes a return to television this year- signing on to star in the forthcoming CBS series ‘Extant’.

Telling the story of an astronaut (portrayed by Berry) who tries to reconnect with her family after a year long solo mission in space, CBS have already ordered an entire season of 13 episodes for the show- executive produced by ‘The Color Purple‘s Steven Spielberg.

Set to debut in the summer of 2014,  the series will follow Halle’s character as she struggles to readjust to life as she knew it, soon learning that experiences that took place both at home and space have the power to change the course of human history.

Exciting, as its release will precede the May 23rd unveiling of ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’, which will see her reprise as Ororo ‘Storm’ Munroe, whom she first portrayed back 13 years ago in the first instalment of the Twentieth Century Fox project.
