In the 12 years since Fantasia flew to victory on American Idol, the soulful songbird has made each subsequent appearance on the show count.
Last night was no exception.
Celebrating the show’s past (as it cruises towards its penultimate end), the vocal powerhouse performed two songs which cemented her in Idol history – ‘Summertime’ and her winners’ single ‘I Believe.’
The renditions were part of the evening’s ‘Duets’ theme, as such Ms. Barrino was joined by favorites La’Porsha Renae and Jordan Sasser.

Today, the Grammys took to Twitter to confirm pop icon Michael Jackson will also be receiving a tribute – more specifically in honor of the reissue of his classic ‘Off the Wall’ album (1979). Tapping R&B crooner Miguel, whose career narrative has lent him more comparisons to Prince than Jackson, the Grammys will see the ‘Coffee’ singer serve up a stirring homage to the King of Pop.
