One week after rubbing shoulders with the likes of Rihanna & Rita Ora at ‘The Butter Group’s 1 Oak club, ‘Mine‘ performer Drake rocked ‘REVOLT‘s pre-Super Bowl party yesterday evening!

Wowing his audience with live servings of ‘We Made It‘ and ‘Trophies’, the ‘Take Care‘ hit-maker was later joined on stage by Bad Boy‘s French Montana, and a fur-donning Diddy!

After a lengthy break on the bench, ‘TGJ Replay’ is back!

Designed much like our ‘Retro Rewind’ and ‘From the Vault’ segments, ‘Replay’ is That Grape Juice‘s newest retrospective segment – a written quest, if you will, to re-spin the gems and jams of yesterday.

Unlike its ‘Rewind’ and ‘Vault’ predecessors, ‘Replay’ looks to dust off and showcase entire albums (and eras) from a library of pop and Urban pop music hits.  As this weekend marks the 10th anniversary of her epic Super Bowl showing, today’s ‘Replay’ revisits ‘Damita Jo‘ – the ensuing era of pop icon Janet Jackson.

As Lady GaGa fans wait with bated breath for the singer’s next move, the star appears to be on a brief break of sorts.

The singer shared a shot of herself Las Vegas with none other than Britney Spears.

Mother Monster was in-town to watch the former stage blazer try her best at her Planet Hollywood residency.

Based on the clips we’ve seen, the show appears to offer little more than “that” 2007 VMA performance that sent shockwaves through the industry, however it appears GaGa had a genuinely enjoyable time.

She prefaced she shot above with…

Sweet.

As unfortunate as Britney’s current predicament is, we continue to hold a spec of hope that one day some day we’ll see (at least shades of) ‘Slave 4 U’ Brit back on the scene.

All hail King B!

Beyonce‘s latest single ‘Drunk In Love’ has been making a major splash both culturally and commercially since arriving with the singer’s surprise visual album back in December.

The UK is one of main terrain’s embracing the hard-hitting number, with the Jay-Z assisted cut becoming her 17th top ten in the region two weeks ago when it ascended to #10.

Today saw the song’s popularity re-affirmed when it hit a new peak on the country’s coveted tally.

K.Michelle is having doubts.

No, not about herself, but about the industry she is currently thriving in, and the supposed ‘trickery’ pulled by her sister in soul, Tamar Braxton.

Indeed, in adding steam to baseless claims of ‘album-buying’ aimed at the ‘Love & War’ belle, Michelle’s brand new number ‘I Don’t Believe’ unveils the inner-workings of her mind, and see her address a number of hot topics currently surrounding her bourgeoning career.

Yes…even the Grammy snub.

The 90’s were overflowing with vocal groups. Last week saw us salute the males, so this week it’s the turn of the ladies. Today’s From The Vault pick comes courtesy of Xscape’ and their hit ‘My Little Secret’.
Served up as the second single from the band’s third and final LP ‘Traces Of My Lipstick’, the sultry groove, released in 1998, was produced by mentor Jermaine Dupri and written by band-member LaTocha Scott. It was the So So Def divas very last single together, as they decided to call it quit safter this release despite this single hitting #9 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #2 on the Hot Hip-Hop/R&B.
In similar fashion to TLC’s ‘Creep’ a few years back, ‘Secret’ deals with infidelity — this time with the ladies singing about the thrill sourced from entertaining a relationship with an « unavailable » lover.
Editor’s Sidenote: One can’t but smile at the brazenness of R&B singers for unleashing tracks like this, then flipping the script and singing about heartbreak and “triflin”. A little bit of everything for everyone, it seems…
Directed by Darren Grant, the video with its late-night-special feel, uses dark colors and shadows in a bid to accentuate the forbidden element of the lyrics. The soulful belles look particularly stunning in what is arguably their most celebrated visual.
With each release, Xscape had managed to gradually impose their brand of pure-R&B and we feel like, had they continued pushing through, they would have delivered even bigger classics for the genre, especially in a post-The Boy Is Mine world where all eyes were on Rhythm & Blues music.
Anyhow, today we’re tipping out hats to the ladies of Xscape for the gems they did deliver.

Her work may have been overlooked by the 2014 Grammy committee, but that hasn’t stopped the general public’s support of R&B heartbeat K.Michelle this year.

Rebuilding her career with the bricks and mortar that are ‘Love & Hip Hop‘ and undeniably strong material, the ‘For Coloured Girls’ performer is now the star of her self-penned success story, joining Tamar Braxton and Fantasia to become one of the genre’s more lucrative ladies.

So, why we’d say a number of her sonic siblings have a thing or two to learn from her today?

You may not know he is now, but Christian rapper Bizzle is hoping his take on Macklemore‘s ‘Same Love’ will change all that today, following the release of his own take on the song.

Shedding light on the ‘pro-gay agenda’ he believes Mack is using to boost his own Pop popularity, the performer also goes a long way to slam those who compare the African-American civil rights struggle to the LGBT rights movement, as ‘they hung us like tree ornaments, where were you at? / They burned us for entertainment, you go through that?’

Rihanna…Ciara…Beyonce.

After the first two forced his name into Pop’s stratosphere by recording and releasing cuts penned by him, the latter will no doubt welcome his take on her latest smash hit today, one week after she brought it to life at the 56th Annual Grammy awards.

His name? Future.

The remix? ‘Drunk in Love.’

That’s right, shortly before he joins fiancee Ciara in welcoming their first child to the world, the vocalist takes on the Urban hit, armed with new lyrics, a fresh perspective and his trust pal auto-tune.

They’re the gifted quintet forged by the ‘X Factor USA’ and now carve out a lane of their very own with every new release they unleash.

Indeed, in a move that’ll see them score the longevity that oft escapes girl groups, Fifth Harmony‘s time since leaving the show has seen them dedicate all efforts to developing themselves right in front of their fans’ very eyes.

Of course, while this may have come as a surprise to those who’d expected instantaneous chart domination for the group, the grass roots-esque movement the girls have generated has given them an air of credibility, likely to pay off once Epic hits play on their international promo.

With all this in mind, is it any wonder rapper Yung Berg hopes to hop aboard Harmony’s creative ship this year?

Not sure what we mean?
