Summer is hot and so is Solange! The stunning singer covers the June/July 2013 issue of Complex magazine.

Now mononymous, the soulful singer’s clout no longer hinges on the power in her last name. Her brand carries with it an effortless cool that she says is nothing to do with being “indie”. In fact she tells the magazine in her feature interview “the idea of convention versus non-convention or mainstream versus indie or any of those quote-unquote ‘conflicts’ has never crossed my mind.”

She does, however, wax honest about other conflicts elsewhere. Most notable is her description of what caused her to go independent in the first place.

Appearing on the CJ Rocks show, the Soul-filled singer wowed with an acapella medley of new single ‘I.O.U’ and fan-favorite ‘I Want You’.

Today sees Eve‘s long-awaited LP ‘Lip Lock’ strut its way into US stores.

The comeback collection is the fiery femcee’s first studio album in over ten years and has, itself, been in the making for almost seven.

In a bid to leave no promo stone unturned, the ‘She Bad Bad’ rapper stopped by Hot 97 radio today to chat about the album, how love saw her move to London, and her Fetish clothing line. And while largely laid-back, the interview certainly had its “moments” particularly when the topic of ex boyfriend Stevie J (of Love & Hip-Hop: Atlanta fame) was brought up. Let’s just say Ms. Jeffers proved that she’s still all sorts of Philly.

With Beyonce dominating the world via her H&M Summer 2013 campaign, Ciara soaring with ‘Body Party‘ and Chris Brown back in the arms of Karrueche Tran, we’re sure the last few weeks have been pretty tough for Pop sensation Rihanna.

However, in what saw her exit the mean streets of Instagram and return to her day job, the tardy nocalist enjoyed a late night studio session in NYC two nights ago, prompting unconfirmed reports that she is hard at work on brand new material!

Before it drops in full on Wednesday, Elijah Blake‘s ‘XOX’ video received an epic promo boost tonight when BET unveiled the official sneak peek for the clip tonight.

That’s right, after weeks of anticipation- tomorrow will see the song become available for purchase on iTunes, with the video dropping on 106 &Park one day later- months before the launch of his debut album…the follow up to the Def Jam/Roc Nation led ‘Bijoux 22‘.
