Once a verbal deal has gone south, a funeral homeowner (portrayed by Academy Award winner Tommy Lee Jones) calls on a slick attorney (portrayed by Jamie Lee Foxx) to save his family business from a half-billion-dollar corporation attempting a takeover in the new Amazon Studios’ film ‘The Burial.’
A gripping tale of corporate corruption, racial injustice, and greed, the Maggie Betts-directed flick – based on Jonathan Harr‘s unforgettable 1999 ‘New Yorker‘ article of the same name – is based on the real life story of Doug Wright.
With a limited theatrical run starting Friday (October 6), ‘Burial’ – also starring Jurnee Smollett, Mamoudou Athie, Pamela Reed, Alan Ruck, and Bill Camp – premieres on Amazon Prime Video for streaming October 13.
