It’s that time of year again!

The 40th annual American Music Awards are set to air live from the Nokia Theatre on November 18th.

One of popular music’s biggest calendar nights, the AMA’s are renown for boasting the year’s best live performances, while also awarding the most deserving releases of the last twelve months.

With all eyes on the latter, attention turns to who is up for awards this year. Well, wonder no more. The nominations for the 2012 American Music Awards await below…

The sales of Usher‘s latest LP ‘Looking 4 Myself’ may not be meeting his usual highs, yet that hasn’t deterred the crooner from pressing on with the set’s fifth single ‘Numb’.

Many insiders attribute the continuation of the project, which has sold just 380,000 copies in the US since June, to the the 33 year old’s upcoming stint as a coach on NBC The Voice. Indeed, what better way to heighten his importance to the show than to continue his run as a relevant, charting artiste?

Positively glowing, the chart topper’s sighting arrives before the release of her new LP ‘Warrior’ on November 30th. An LP, fans hope will live up to its already brewing hype.

She may be in town as part of her sold European tour, but Jennifer Lopez still found time to relax last night- enjoying dinner with her children, lover Casper Smart and mother, Guadelope Rodriquez.

Casually dressed and heavily guarded, the family made their way to dinner, days after Lopez graced Paris Fashion Week and hours after she’d enjoyed a shopping trip with Smart, also one of her dancers.

Girls Aloud are back.

And with Cheryl Cole‘s solo sales sagging sans The X Factor machine and the rest tanking in spectacular fashion with their own efforts, it was really only a matter of time.

Less cynically, though, next month marks the tenth anniversary of the group’s creation, and it appears the ladies are gearing up to mark the occasion.

For, this morning saw the a mysterious countdown timer appear on their newly relaunched website; a timer which ends on October 19th – the widely speculated release of the group’s new single.

The time-frame also coincides with the ladies much speculated live showing at Children In Need on November 16th, as well as the Royal Variety Performance which place on November 19th.

And while little else has been revealed about the project at present, it has been confirmed that Cheryl, Nadine, Nicola, and co  clocked in studio time with Pop maestro’s Xenomania back in May.

With the original Sugababes MKS also back in the mix, it’s certainly an exciting time for fans of Brit-Pop girl groups.

They may be relatively talent-challenged (sans, of course, the sublime Nadine Coyle – R.I.P ‘Insatiable’), but check out some of our favourite Girls Aloud moments below. Warning *some* are so bad, they’re good!

The year’s biggest newcomer. The industry’s biggest hitmaker. And Hip-Hop’s biggest superstar. Naturally, it’s a given that such a shot of Frank Ocean, Pharrell Williams, and Jay-Z was always going to make headlines.

Shared yesterday by Williams, it’s presently unknown what the trio were working on. Yet, whatever it was certainly had The Neptunes star all-fired up. Writing on Twitter after posting the pic, he said:

 

And neither can we! Ocean’s last hook-up with Pharrell was on the sublime ‘Sweet Life’ from his critically acclaimed ‘Channel Orange’ LP, while he recently waxed it up with Jay-Z on Watch The Throne‘s ‘No Church In The Wild’.

We were beginning to worry, but it looks like Eve is finally back!

After a lengthy hiatus, one characterised by legal issues and a label change, the self-professed Pitbull In A Skirt barks back with new single ‘She Bad Bad’ – the cover for which she unmasked on Twitter moments ago.

The cut, which hits iTunes tomorrow, is the first effort to be lifted E-V-E’s EMI debut which boasts production from the likes of Missy Elliott and is set for release next year.

With Nicki Minaj having had a strong-hold of sorts on the commercial femcee market as of late, it’ll be uber interesting to see if her success assists the likes of  established acts such as Eve reclaim their spots at the top. As long-time supports of the former Ruff Ryder‘s talent, we sure hope it does.
