Six years ago, the shock axe of TV host Star Jones from The View caused ripples. From the suddenness of the cull, to the spats which would arise between Jones and her former co-hosts, drama characterised the air surrounding her departure.
Hence, surprised were many when the 49 year old paid a visit to her old stomping grounds today.
“A new couch. You’ve got two black girls. Sherri and I are not the same person. Elisabeth had more children. Joy got married!”, Jones exclaimed after being welcomed back to the show which made her a household name.
Anchor Barbara Walters began to recount what happened in 2006, with Jones interjecting with: “Are we really going to go here, Barbara? Do we care at this point?! I honestly don’t.”
Walter insisted, saying “people ask us all the time”, going on to remind Jones that her contract had not been renewed and she surprised her co-stars by saying she was leaving. “It was ugly. … It was a bad emotional time,” Jones replied, adding, “I made the decision that I wanted to go out on my own terms.”
The mood would quickly lightened, as the ladies played catch up, and discussed Jones’ new VH1 venture, which see her book ‘Satan’s Sisters’ turned into a TV movie. Peep the footage above…
