This week saw R&B soulstress India.Arie emerge from a 4 year hiatus from the spotlight with ‘Songversation’ – her fifth studio album.  With promo gears in full swing, the ‘Brown Skin’ beauty took to OWN TV’s ‘Super Soul Sunday’ (hosted by Oprah Winfrey) to dish on her absence, as well as recent rumors of skin bleaching, new album, and so much more.

Multitalented songbird Michelle Williams has been the topic of much chatter since the release of her newest tune ‘If We Had Your Eyes’ yesterday.

Debuting to overwhelming critical acclaim, the Destiny’s Child graduate is keeping buzz afloat for its forthcoming, yet titled parent album by hosting a live Ustream session (which wrapped moments ago).

Today brings with it the release of India Arie‘s highly anticipated 5th studio album ‘Songversation’.

Much to the delight of fans (christened #Soulbirds), the singer’s lengthy promo outings kicked off this morning with a live rendition of the album’s lead single ‘Cocoa Butter’ on ABC’s ‘Good Morning America’.

And while such a phrase is often used flippantly for artists, in the 23-year-old’s case it rings true in a much more literal sense.

Last January saw the stage blazer break his neck while rehearsing for a world tour, putting not just his career at stake — but his life.
