All eyes may be on this season of American Idol, however the next has been dealt a devastating blow: the only original judge left on the panel, Randy Jackson, has announced that he is to leave the hit Fox show.

In a freshly released statement he wrote:

“Yo! Yo! Yo! To put all of the speculation to the rest, after 12 years of judging on American Idol I have decided it is time to leave after this season,” he says. “I am very proud of how we forever changed television and the music industry. It’s been a life changing opportunity but I am looking forward to focusing on my company Dream Merchant 21 and other business ventures.” {Source}

Another one bites the dust. Anyone else feel like this might have something to do with all the Mariah rumors? In serving as her interim manager until recently, perhaps the drama surrounding her run on the show (see: Nicki Minaj, producers, J.Lo) was the straw that broke the camels back. Food for thought.

With only a few days left until ‘American Idol’ ends its latest season, Pepsi front woman Nicki Minaj caught up with its ever charming host Ryan Seacrest for an upbeat and honest sit down interview.

Explaining her reason for joining the show in the first place, her time with Seacrest also saw her speak openly on her feelings towards industry politics and why she thought she and fellow judge Mariah would make the best ‘Idol’ duo of all time- and how she felt when that short lived dream was crushed.

Urban Hollywood shows up and out in new comedy/drama ‘Baggage Claim’.

Due in theaters this Fall, the movie tells the tale of Montana (Paula Patton). Pledging to keep herself from being the oldest and the only woman in her entire family never to wed, she embarks on a thirty-day, thirty-thousand-mile expedition to charm a potential suitor into becoming her fiancé. The resulting experience is filled with laughs, love, and…drama!

Is the plot crazy as cray? It seems so. But, still, this looks like it’ll be bringing the LOL’s.

Filmed just hours ago, the interview will see her address a number of issues pertaining her widely praised role on the talent contest- the bond she’s made with its contestants and why she hopes to return for a second season next year.

 We didn’t know it then, but during Lauryn Hill‘s recent tax related tribulations a number of entertainers made it their mission to help her during the difficult time. One of these entertainers, being ‘Samsonite Man’ singer Alicia Keys.

Indeed, in a letter thanking all who wrote to the case’s judge in the hopes of saving her from jail time, Ms. Hill praised the star and many others for their  support.
