Chris Brown and Usher fans were in glee earlier this week when Bryan-Michael Cox announced that the duo were going on tour. However, even after Brown proposed to the idea on his Twitter, the plans for the show have been officially scrapped. There is no official word from either artist’s camp as to why the venture was canceled. Brown has since removed any messages referring to the tour from his Twitter page. {Source}

I guess we’ll just be stuck with Rihanna and her squealing as the only alternative unless we go to Trey Songz’s sex show, ‘Passion, Pain, & Pleasure’. At least we still have Lady GaGa.

Flashback to 2001 and Jennifer Lopez was the reigning queen of the music charts. One of the hits that made her domination undeniable was the Murder Remix of ‘I’m Real’ from her ‘J. Lo’ album of 2001. The track featured fellow has-been Ja Rule and held the #1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 for 5 non-consecutive weeks.

However, the track was not without controversy. According to the song’s producer, Irv Gotti, Lopez was anything but real about how ‘I’m Real’ came into existence. Not only did she use the exact same sample for the original version of ‘I’m Real’ that Mariah Carey used for her song ‘Loverboy’ but Lopez also copied another Carey song for the remix. The Murder Remix of the record was specifically crafted by Gotti to sound exactly like Carey’s ‘If We (Ft. Ja Rule)’ in accordance with the instruction of Carey’s ex-husband Tommy Mottola who was supposedly trying to sabotage her career at the time. Hence, Lopez stole from Carey twice for the same song and started what would become a decade long feud. {Source}

Unoriginality aside, this was a great record and a monster hit. It’s astounding how the times have changed with both Lopez and Ja Rule’s more recent material being rejecting from the bargain bins across the globe. O well at least they could look back at their better years via Youtube.

Much ado has been made about Mariah Carey‘s whopping weight gain as of late, with rumours of pregnancy going into overdrive. Such murmurings appear somewhat validated, if the above picture is anything to go by.

The shot, which was captured during Carey’s Brazilian show last night, seems to confirm that the singer is indeed with child (see: ‘baby bump’). If true, it would be the 40 year old’s first child with husband of two years Nick Cannon.

Of course, it may simply be a case of Ms. Carey-Cannon getting carried away with that KFC Bargain Bucket. Although, all signs point to congratulations being in order for her and Nick. Happy days.

Mariah Carey will no doubt be hitting the headlines this week, following the release of pictures of her performing in Brazil last night.

The 40 year old diva rocked the stage in a major way during her Barretos concert, performing a bevy of hits during her 45 minute set (including ‘Hero’, ‘We Belong Together’, and ‘Dream Lover’, for the sold-out crowd.

Surely a more befitting ensemble would have been more ‘festive’, no?
