Thanks to a well-received remix featuring Miley Cyrus, relative newcomer The Kid Laroi has been bumped to his highest Hot 100 position yet.

As the refreshed tally revealed Monday (May 10), the Aussie singer-rapper-producer saw his hit ‘Without You’ – which previously peaked at #30 on the hit list – hop to #8 after an assist from Cyrus.

While Kid has much to celebrate as it’s his second career visit to the chart region, Miley may have even more as the move moves her into Billboard history books.

Thanks to a number of female contributors (i.e. Doja Cat on ‘In Your Eyes,’ Rosalia on ‘Blinding Lights,’ etc.), The Weeknd has given hits from his blockbuster fourth studio album, ‘After Hours,’ extended lifelines on the Hot 100 with remixes.

Giving his latest single, ‘Save Your Tears,’ the same treatment courtesy of a revamp featuring Ariana Grande, the GRAMMY winners’ reunion – nearly 7 years after their first duet ‘Love Me Harder’ –  has proven to be just what the doctor ordered as it’s secured their latest chart-topper.

Save your tears is exactly what fans of The Weeknd are telling his detractors as his global smash hit, ‘Blinding Lights,’ continues to shine bright on the Billboard Hot 100.

Already in the tally’s history books as the longest-running top 5 and longest-running top 10 hit of all-time, the song’s enduring domination of the chart is driving it into even further historical territory.

As if ‘Blinding Lights’ star The Weeknd doesn’t already have enough shiny Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) plaques to blind him, the GRAMMY winner’s added a slew of new ones thanks to continued Super Bowl-granted wins attributed to his hotly-selling 2020 album, ‘After Hours.’

2020 may have been the year that built buzz for rising R&B singer Giveon, but 2021 is proving itself the year the 26-year-old is set for breakthrough.

First gaining international notoriety as a feature on Drake‘s hit ‘Chicago Freestyle’ (which peaked at #14 on the Hot 100 last year), the crooner (born Giveon Dezmann Evans) went on to release two EPs in the months that followed – the GRAMMY-nominated ‘Take Time’ (March 2020) and ‘When It’s All Said and Done’ (October 2020).

While those efforts managed to peak at the #70 and #93 rungs respectively on the Billboard 200, an appearance on the Hot 100 eluded Evans – until this week.

The campaign to support The Weeknd‘s fourth official album and era, ‘After Hours,’ may have kicked off in late 2019, but review of the Hot 100 reveals content from the effort shows no sign of loosening grip on the tally.

While ‘Hours’ most noted hit, ‘Blinding Lights,’ is enjoying its record-extending 37th week in the top 5 (making it the longest-running of such hit ranking to date), it also notched its 52nd week in the Hot 100’s top 20 and sits in record books as the second longest-running top 20 hit ever.

And while those wins are certainly enough to celebrate, the latter-mentioned chart territory has now welcomed a new tenant from ‘Hours’ – ‘Save Your Tears.’

The Weeknd is back.

For, he has just unleashed the latest set of visuals for his song ‘Save Your Tears.’ He surprise announced the release of the music video on January 4, a day before it officially premiered.

The song is lifted from his most recent album, ‘After Hours.’ It serves as the project’s fourth official single and follows the releases ‘Heartless,’ ‘Blinding Lights,’ and ‘In Your Eyes.’ Both ‘Heartless’ and ‘Blinding Lights’ topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart, with the latter going on to become the longest-running song in the Top 10 of the chart’s history (as we reported here).

Just a week after planting her latest single, ‘Willow,’ atop the Hot 100 (click here to read more), the Taylor Swift tune was whisked away from the position thanks to a gust of holiday tunes.

And, while the #1 premiere of the ‘Evermore’ cut entered her in history books for a number of reasons including being the third female artist (fifth overall) to nab three career debuts atop the Hot 100, it’s now seeing her penciled in records for opposite movement.

It took an influx of holiday music to dim the Hot 100 shine of ‘Blinding Lights’The Weeknd‘s colossal ‘After Hours’ hit.

As we reported here, the Max Martin-produced cut was written in Billboard history books two weeks ago for becoming the longest-running top 10 hit in history when it logged 40 weeks in the tally’s topmost dectet.

Although it managed to hang on for yet another rung in the 7 days that followed, the refreshed Hot 100 shows ‘Blinding Lights’ has been booted from the chart region in what would’ve been its 42nd week.  Landing at #11, the drop marks the first time the song’s been outside of the top 10 since it first arrived there in February 2020.

The Weeknd isn’t slowing down.

For, the singer has just dropped his latest remix of ‘Blinding Lights’ featuring Latin superstar Rosalía.

‘Blinding Lights’ has been doing extremely well on the charts since its release last November. The song has broken the record for the most weeks spent inside the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart (as we reported here).

Now, the acclaimed singer hopes to keep that record going with his latest remix of the track.
