America's Next Top Model To Feature TransgengerThe latest cycle of Tyra Bank’s model search show America’s Next Top Model is set to feature a transgender hopeful. Check out the report via US Weekly below:

One of the 14 girls who will compete on the new season of America’s Next Top Model – which returns to The CW on September 3 – is transgender. “My cards were dealt differently,” Isis, a 22-year-old former receptionist, tells Us Weekly exclusively in its new issue, on newsstands now. Hailing from Prince George’s County, Maryland, Isis identifies herself as “a woman born physically male.”

Will she be a role model? “I like to help people, but I’m here to follow my dreams,” she tells Us.The inclusion of Isis is being hailed by GLAAD president Neil Giuliano as “an unprecedented opportunity for a community that is underrepresented on television. “We applaud Tyra Banks and The CW for making this historic visibility of transgender people possible,” Giuliano said.

Each to their own, I guess. I must say, though, that I find it real apt that, amid talk of the show becoming stale and boring, such a non-conventional contestant has been added into the mix. Hmm…

Reality TV star Omarosa has declared victory over shock jock Wendy Williams, following their spat on Williams’ talk show recently:

“She’s been talking smack about me for the past five years and she thought I’d go on her show, forgetting about it? She’s been so vicious, she couldn’t have expected a tea party!”

“I had some expectation that she would try and up her game, but she lowered it. I find it ironic that she would beg and plead me to come on her show and then be rude and unprofessional when I got there,” says Omarosa, who thinks she won this fight with the radio shock jock. “I knocked Wendy out. She’s so used to bullying people, but for the first time, she met her match.” “She definitely has a face for radio.” {Source}

Ouch…

Do you agree with Omarosa?

* I’m sure many of you have been wondering about our interview with Chris Brown. Yes, I did receive all of your emails, however I wanted to wait until I was fully aware of the situation at hand before informing you guys.
As planned Chris arrived here in London to play shows at the indig02 a few weeks back, however he was added to line-up for the BBC 1Xtra Live festival in Coventry at the last minute – meaning more rehearsal time. As a result pretty much all of his allocated press time was cut – which unfortunately included ours. The long and short of the situation is that the interview has been postponed. I stress the word ‘postponed’, as my contact at Sony BMG UK (Chris’ label here) has kindly confirmed that a new date for the interview has been set for the latter part of May. Annoying as this is, it literally is ‘one of those things’. Often, bridging the site with the industry can prove rather unpredictable – both in good and not so good ways – the latter of which I’m learning the hard way about at present. Not to worry though, do rest assured that the interview is definitely still on and your submitted questions have been considered for shortlisting. You can submit them, if you haven’t already, by clicking here

* In regard to the Trina interview, it will be posted in audio form tomorrow (with written at a later date). Much of the delay has been due to the fact that it’s so long (45 minutes to be exact). Saying that, it’s definitely one that both fans and non-fans can not miss!

* Chingy interview will be up soon also. Bare with me 🙂
* The Michelle Williams interview is scheduled for sometime next week or so. Click here to submit your questions
* There *may* be a couple of new positions available here at That Grape Juice in the near future. I say ‘may’, as I’m not simply looking to rehash roles that I see some of the other great blogs doing (and others copying), but something ‘different’. I have a few ideas swirling around my head at the moment, however do feel free to drop me an email with your suggestions or simply to register your interest in joining the That Grape Juice team.

* On a final(ish) note, I’d just like to say a big Thank You to you all for supporting That Grape Juice! At the start of the year, I stated that 08 would definitely mean ‘onwards and upwards’ for the site – something I’m firmly committed to making manifest. Therefore, do be sure to keep it locked on That Grape Juice as there are a lot of great things to come

* Feel free to submit any site suggestions, queries, news submissions etc to me by emailing: sam@thatgrapejuice.net

Jennifer Lopez Parts Ways With Manager Pregnant singer Jennifer Lopez has ended her relationship with veteran manager Irving Azoff. There seems to be confusion, however, as to who ditched who:

J.Lo insists that she formally ended her contract with the music industry mogul, with her rep confirming, “she let him go on Friday with no drama”.

But insiders claim that Azoff fired the mommy-to-be for being “unprofessional” and letting husband Marc Anthony “constantly meddle” with her career, according to TMZ.

Azoff allegedly sent J.Lo a letter last week, detailing in “blunt terms” why he ended the relationship.

This was reportedly followed by a “heated phone call” between the Latino diva’s people and Azoff. {Source}

Who knows what really went down? Still, I think if Jennifer wants to salvage what’s left of her flagging career, she should take an extended leave from the limelight and actually attempt making a half-decent record.

As some of you may have heard, Ne-Yo was dropped suddenly from R. Kelly’s ‘Double Up’ tour a few couple of days ago. Whilst, at the time, ‘contractual reasons’ were cited as the reason, the ‘Do You’ singer has spoken out about the situation on a Washington radio station. Check out the report below via Natasha over at YBF:

…But Ne-Yo now says that he was told to tell people his being dropped was due to financial and contractual issues. But actually it was because he challenged some of the goings on behind the scenes of the tour. And that may or may not (he purposely remained vague on the issue)have led to contractual obligations not being fulfilled. He discussed how simple things like a dressing room were not given to him and his dancers because R. Kelly wanted all 7 of the dressing rooms to himself. He also said that R. Kelly and his people were quite unprofessional and demanded Ne-Yo’s rehearsal times be cut short. Basically he wasn’t feeling the respect level given to him and said “No” to many of the unplanned and slightly disrespectful changes. And apparently, after Keyshia Cole threw a fit and threatened to not perform on opening night because she didn’t like that R. Kelly’s people slated her to go on before Ne-Yo, they didn’t drop her for challenging their decisions. And Keyshia still ended up not performing that night. Ne-Yo says all that wasn’t cool and he’s being treated unfairly.

He says he definitely still respects R. Kelly musically, but not as a man. Sounds like The Kells’ divatude is back in play…reminiscent of the Best of Both Worlds Tour with Jay-Z. And we all know how that ended up. Ne-Yo was asked about whether any lawsuits would come of this and he responded with the typical “We’ll see what happens” response. He also says now that he has all this free time on his hands, he’s trying to put something together on his own for his fans.

Whatever the real reason, it was pretty messed up to drop him from the tour – especially after Keyshia Cole’s rumored behaviour. all of this makes me question R. Kelly’s logic; I mean, with his trial coming up soon, he’s gonna need every bit of good press he can get and this definitely isn’t a good look.

Any thoughts?
Despite selling close to 300,000 copies of her sophomore album ‘Just Like You’ this week (debuting at #2), R&B singer Keyshia Cole was not in high spirits during a recent radio interview. While being questioned on the Big Phat Morning Show to promote the CD, Cole came across snappy, rude and very unprofessional. Thankfully, the radio host called her out and let her know that her attitude was unnecessary considering that they were showing her love and support.

Though the situation was ironed out before the end of the interview, Keyshia really needs to fix up with her attitude. It’s not the first time her unprofessional behaviour has been brought to light. With her increased success, you’d think she’d be humble, but obviously that is not the case. She really needs to remind herself of the industry she is in, because an attitude like that won’t go far.

Your thoughts on the interview?
