Supermodel-turned talk show host Tyra Banks features on the cover of the February issue of Essence magazine. Banks speaks on a number of things, including her feeling worry that she’s yet to be a wife or mother:

“I’d go to work and women would be crying in my arms on the talk show. But then I’d go home and put my key in my door and … nothing: no friends, no husband, no children. I feel so full when I’m at work but so empty when I come home.” {Source}

Missy Elliott - Ching-A-Ling After a lengthy hiatus from the music scene, Missy Elliott is back with this new track called ‘Ching-A-Ling’. Set to feature on the forthcoming soundtrack for the movie ‘Step Up 2’, the track has me amped for more new material from Missy. I’m liking it.

Mary J. Blige performed her hit single ‘Just Fine’ on ‘The Tonight With Jay Leno Show’ last night. I really can’t get enough of the song and Mary’s live performances of it. Great stuff.

What do you think of the performance?

Mariah CareyMariah Carey has fired back at claims that she snubbed Jennifer Lopez by calling her a ‘pig’. Carey had the following to say:

This is just some Internet gossip and it’s pathetic that people actually entertain the thought that this could be real. This is another sad example of two strong women being pit against each other.” {Source}

Whilst it’s good to know that Mariah isn’t that catty, the first story made for better news lol.

Ok, so ‘Crank That’ was just as catchy as it was annoying, I regularly hummed the hook to ‘Soulja Girl’; but this – what is this crap? 17 year old Soulja Boy serves up ‘Yahhh’ as the third single from his ‘SouljaBoyTellEm.com’ album. Put simply, both the song and the video are garbage. Someones’s ’15 Minutes’ are up…

What do you think of the video?

Dr Dre According to NME, Dr Dre’s serially delayed album ‘Detox’ will finally be hitting stores in June. The much anticipated LP, the follow-up to ‘2001’ – which released 7 years ago, was originally set for release in 2004, however has been pushed back continually since then. Dre. 42, will drop the album via Aftermath/Interscope.

The highly anticipated video for Janet Jackson’s new single ‘Feedback’ premiered tonight on Yahoo Launch. Check it out:

What can I say other than, Janet is back! Let’s get the nitty gritty out the way first; the vid seemed a little too dark (which I’m hoping is due to the internet) and the special effects were a little hit and miss in places. Saying this, everything else was on-point – very on-point. Continuing the Jackson trend of being an innovator of the video form, Janet really stepped out of the box with this video’s concept and it really works. The choreography was great too – especially the dance break at the bridge and the part at the end. All in all, Janet brought her ‘A Game’ with this video – proving exactly why she should never be counted out. ‘Discipline’, Janet’s brand new album, hits stores February 26th.

Check out this behind the scenes look at Timbaland’s new video ‘Scream’, which features Nicole Scherzinger and Keri Hilson:

I’m real psyched about this song getting the single treatment. I’ve long been a fan of the track since hearing Timbo’s ‘Shock Value’ LP. On a side note, that has to be the most personality the oft-wooden Nicole Scherzinger has shown on camera before…a refreshing change. Be on the look out for the video in weeks ahead.

Sean Paul It’s been a minute since we’ve heard anything from Jamaican crossover star Sean Paul. A stalled attempt at returning to the limelight last year came in the form of ‘Watch Dem Roll’, yet things kinda went quiet after that.
This new track titled ‘Pepperpot’ is slated to feature on Sean’s forthcoming LP, the follow-up to 2005’s Platinum certified ‘The Trinity’. I’m kinda on the fence about this one; it’s an easy on the ear, summer sounding track. Saying that, it doesn’t really have that ‘ummph’ that his previous singles have had, leaving me wondering how his album will fare if this is what it has to offer.

Mary J. Blige Covers VIBEContinuing the along the promo trail for her new album ‘Growing Pains’, Mary J. Blige appears on the cover of VIBE magazine’s February issue. She’s looking good, which is just as well for the folk over at VIBE. Back in 2005 Mary called the magazine out for not making her right on her cover for them back then.

What do you think of the cover?
Faith Evans It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything from Faith Evans. Following the ‘so-so’ performance of her last album ‘The First Lady’ (great album IMO), she has kind of stepped away from the limelight – baring in mind she had another child.
Anyway, this unreleased Neptunes produced track ‘Maybe’ has surfaced and has wet my appetite for Faith’s new material. It’s unknown whether the song is from her new album – about which very little is known – or a cut from her previous LP. Still, I’m feeling this; it has a real 90’s throwback – vintage Faith – vibe to it. Here’s hoping she drops a fresh material sooner rather than later. {Thanks L.A. Thompson}

Mariah CareySuperstar diva Mariah Carey appearently had the following to say about a possible duet between her and Jennifer Lopez:

“I’d rather be on stage with a pig — a duet with Jennifer Lopez and me just ain’t going to happen.”
{Source}

LMAO if she actually said this. In the past, Mariah has made no secret of the fact that she’s no fan of J.Lo; and reading that quote reminded me of this:
