‘American Idol’ alum Jessica Sanchez may have lost the season 11 crown during her stint on the show, but that hasn’t taken the powerhouse vocalist’s eyes off the prize.

Indeed, after wowing viewers with a performance on tonight’s episode of the reality talent competition, fans are introduced to “Tonight” – her first official single.  Featuring singer/songwriter Ne-Yo, the song serves as the introductory offering from her Interscope Records debut ‘Me, You, and the Music’ (due April 30th).

Save for Brandy and Keyshia Cole, Ne-Yo is one of the only R&B staples to succeed in crafting cuts both to true to the genre, but ‘catchy’ enough to draw in the casual listener.

A credit to his skill as a writer, today saw the unveiling of a new number by the star named ‘Should Be You‘, featuring ‘Street Dreams’ MC Fabolous and ‘Last Train To Paris‘ mastermind Diddy. Packing a laid back vibe and an infectious hook, the cut appears on the singer’s new LP ‘RED’, due out November 6th.

Quarrels of the crooners!

As fans know, ‘Sexy Love’ singer Ne-Yo wasn’t getting much love from his former ‘The Way You Move’ co-star Trey Songz when he remarked about the ‘Panty Droppa’s’ singing – claiming Songz suffered from an ’emotional disconnect’ in his performances.

When asked about the ‘beef’, Trigga dished very little but did call Ne-Yo’s constructive criticism ‘a sucker move’.

Taking to radio, the outspoken ‘Miss Independent’ divo shared his thoughts on the drawn out drama with Trey, dibs on his new album ‘R.E.D.’ (and it’s recent pushback), and even thoughts on critics who claim he’s abandoned R&B.  As ever, it is an interesting watch:

‘Miss Independent’ maestro Ne-Yo may have been missing from charts for the last few years, but he is certainly looking to turn that around with his upcoming LP ‘R.E.D.’ (September 18th).  Led by the racy ‘Lazy Love’, the singer is looking to deliver on his promise to debut his ‘bad boy side’ on the next album.

While That Grape Juice was treated to an exclusive listen of some of the record’s offerings, Ne-Yo took to KissFmUK to inform fans of what they can expect from the record, his work with Michael Jackson & Beyonce, and his thoughts on electro-pop and the failing status of R&B.
