It has certainly been Taylor Swift‘s week.  For, not only did she see her name etched in history books for being the first female act to sell 1 million copies of a single album in one week twice, she has now notched her 56th (yes, you read that right) entry on Billboard’s Hot 100.

How, you ask?  Well, with 4 top 10 singles from her most recent album ‘Red’ (‘We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together’, ‘Red’, ‘I Knew You Were Trouble’, ‘Begin Again’), Swift just added 5 new titles to the Hot 100 – bringing her tally to 9 entries from one album simultaneously.

But, she’s not the only one celebrating this week.  Ke$ha, Rihanna, and Chris Brown have all seen considerable gains on the singles front.  Read about it all below:

If we’re keeping it all the way real, Ne-Yo has never been a stranger to scoring #1 singles.

However, despite sitting atop many a global chart over the years, we’re pretty sure he won’t be taking his latest feat lightly. For today, he has scored his fifth UK #1 single with the smash hit single ‘Let Me Love You‘.

‘Heart Attack’ hitmaker Trey Songz has indeed seen today be his busiest of the year.  Aside from celebrating the release of his 5th LP ‘Chapter V‘, the singer has taken New York by storm – hitting up venues from ‘The Today Show’ and VH1 to radio interviews in more.

Now, taking to the 106 & Park stage to perform a ‘mini-concert’, the self-proclaimed ‘cornerstone of young R&B’ is looking to use his alarm clock vocals to awaken interest in his latest project – one he’s deemed evidential of his ‘most growth yet’.

Also, heading a heated  (and quite awkward) discussion with New York’s ‘Hot 97’ regarding his beef with fellow crooner Ne-Yo, see Songz in action below:

We’re in the era of Dance Pop. Factually speaking.

Hailed by some for the musical experimenting it encourages, it has been critiqued in earnest. Indeed, for many, the popularity of  and conformity  to the”generic genre” has swallowed the commercial relevancy of R&B whole.

For R&B singer Ne-Yo, it’s an issue that has plagued him in recent years; years which have seen him embrace a Pop-ier sound.

Presently on the promotional trail for new album ‘R.E.D’ (due September 18th), the singer-songwriter used a spot on Angie Martinez‘s Hot 97 radio show to address those who charge that he “abandoned” R&B.

Last night saw R&B force Ne-Yo preview his latest collection of hits – a set he has christened ‘R.E.D’.

A stylized acronym for ‘Realizing Every Dream’, the LP is important for more than serving as the star’s 5th studio album.

His last outing ‘Libra Scale’, spawned hits, yet little in the way of commercial nor critical acclaim. Blessed with a fresh and firmer slate by way of his new deal at Universal Motown (where he also serves as SVP of A&R), the 32 year old is gearing up to release the set (his first on the label) on September 18th.

Assembling a who’s who of the British media in Central London, the hitmaker provided a 7-track taste of the opus – which was preceded by a glowing endorsement by Ethiopia Habtemariam – the Senior Vice President of Motown Records.

Our exclusive preview of ‘R.E.D’ awaits after the jump…

British pin-up Conor Maynard serves up another taste of ‘Contrast’, ahead of its July 30th release, with the video for the LP’s 2nd single ‘Vegas Girl’.

Shot in New York, the clip does a solid job spinning the irony of that into a fairly compelling narrative.

Check out the 19 year old, who has collaborated with Pharrell Williams, Ne-Yo, and Rita Ora on his album, in action below…
