Take a listen to the song, which we reviewed in our exclusive preview of ‘Libra Scale’, below…

As previously reported, our girl Kelly Rowland has been working with hit-maker Ne-Yo on her forthcoming Universal Motown debut. There is now reliable word that new Ne-Yo demo ‘Tonight’ (formerly titled ‘Halo’) has indeed been recorded by the Destiny’s Child alumni for the record.
Although it’s currently unknown if the reference track will indeed feature on the album (which itself is said to be close to completion), the song certainly makes for a compelling listen. If this is what Ms. Kelly is cooking up in the lab, I’m even more amped for the album than I was previously! Produced by Stargate and penned by Ne-Yo, the song is a great embodiment of the Urban/Pop/Dance sound Kelly is going for this go round.
Ne-Yo has confirmed to MTV News that he has returned to the studio work on a new album. The LP will serve as the followup to his 2008 ‘Year of the Gentleman’ project which has been certified platinum in the US. Here is what the hit-maker had to say about his new record:
The video for Mariah Carey‘s ‘Angel’s Cry (Remix) (ft. Ne-Yo)’ finally surfaced a few moments ago. Check it out above…
I’ll give it to ol’ Mimi, the Nick Cannon directed clip is surprisingly not bad, boasting a pretty cool cinematic look and feel. However, with the song not necessarily screaming ‘smash’ (Ne-Yo feature or otherwise) and Mariah’s popularity waning, an off-the-charts video was what the doctor ordered if this is to have any real chance at success. Unfortunately ‘off-the-charts’ this isn’t. That said, stranger things have happened; who knows, Mariah could surprise us once again. Time will tell. {Thanks for the heads-up, Pinboard Blog!}
