Kanye West is no stranger to rendering controversial comments over his career, but this week’s load of explosive statements may have seen the GRAMMY winner even outdo himself.

Already embroiled in backlash for the unveiling of his Yeezy custom ‘White Lives Matter’ t-shirts, the ‘Gold Digger’ star dug the hole deeper when he took to Instagram to double down on the apparel’s purpose – even slamming the Black Lives Matter movement along the way.

Thursday night (October 6), Ye reiterated his stance via an appearance on Fox News’ ‘Tucker Carlson Tonight.

When not raising eyebrows for his discussion about the shirts, he got people talking for his critiques of Lizzo and the body-positive movement, slamming his ‘Christian’ ex-wife Kim Kardashian, and so much more.

Announced as a surprise at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards in August, the set follows the Pop titan’s blockbuster 2020 effort ‘Evermore,’ as well as the ongoing re-releases (Taylor’s Versions) of her back catalog.

However, unlike our other segments – Retro Rewind, TGJ Replay, and From The Vault – The Pop Stop is the most in-depth look at Pop songs that may have flown under the radar over the last week that you should know, rather they be from music’s biggest stars or those on the rise.

This week, we want to highlight cuts from Carly Rae Jepsen, Gracie Abrams, Magnolia Park, Blu Eyes, Surf Curse, and Jake Scott.

This time last year UK music duo Right Said Fred was celebrating Rap superstar Drake for bringing their 90’s signature hit, ‘I’m Too Sexy,’ to a new generation via his ‘Certified Lover Boy’ #1 smash ‘Way 2 Sexy.’

That same elation wasn’t exactly extended to another one of music’s biggest names recently, however.

Look inside to see the criticism the twosome launched toward Beyoncé who also used interpolations of the 1991 tune in her 2022-released song ‘Alien Superstar’ (found aboard her latest history-making album ‘Renaissance’).

With Migos seemingly behind them for good, Quavo and Takeoff are looking to take off as a duo – as evidenced by the absence of Offset on the new album, ‘Only Built for Infinity Links.’

Released Friday (October 7), the 18-track set – preceded by housed tunes ‘Big Stunna,’ ‘Us vs. Them,‘ and the Gold-certified ‘Hotel Lobby’ – features Summer Walker, YoungBoy Never Broke Again, Birdman, Young Thug, Gunna, and more.

And while there are quite a few numbers on the project that are getting fans talking, it seems none are doing so quite like ‘Messy,’ which is believed to contain disses to Yung Miami of the City Girls and Quavo’s ex, Saweetie.

“I said, “Caresha please” ’cause she too messy/ B***h f**k my dawg behind my back, but I ain’t stressin’/ You wanted the gang, you shoulda just said it, we would have blessed it/ Now shit got messy,” Quavo raps on the tune in seeming reference to Saweetie’s recent visit to Miami’s podcast, ‘Caresha Please.’

That’s not all he said.  Look inside to stream ‘Messy’ and its parent album courtesy of Apple Music.
