All roads lead to next Friday (August 26) for Britney Spears and Elton John.

For, the dynamic duo will be debuting their brand new single ‘Hold Me Closer’ on said date.

The hotly anticipated track, which is a reworking of John’s 1972 classic ‘Tiny Dancer,’ serves as Spears’ first original recording since 2016’s ‘Glory’ album. Perhaps most notably, it’s also the Pop performer’s first offering since the termination of her conservatorship in December 2021.

With anticipation sky high, the pair unwrapped a new preview.

It was a Destiny’s Child link-up!

The ladies of the legendary ensemble have maintained a sisterhood since setting sail on their respective journeys and are routinely snapped with one another. What’s more, they’ve made clear that they are firm fixtures in each other’s lives beyond the glare of the camera.

Such was the case this week when members Beyonce and Michelle Williams were snapped together.

The sighting marks the latest of the pair with each other following Bey’s celebratory ‘Renaissance’ album launch party.

We’re loving the love!

This time last year music mogul Diddy shot down a suggestion to engage in a musical battle Jermaine Dupri because he believed the So So Def founder didn’t ‘have enough hits’ (as we reported here).

The Bad Boy leader has since had a change of heart it seems as he’s not only changed his tune about the matter but is also hoping to change the venue that will see he and Dupri go head-to-head in a hits duel.

DaBaby fans may have had their eyes peeled for an early August release of his latest studio album ‘Baby on Baby 2’ (as he promised in July), but he’s hoping they’ll be patient as he puts the finishing touches on the project.

In an effort to tide them over until the new date is released, the rapper (born Jonathan Kirk) is serving ‘Waitress’ – the latest taste of new music set to line the LP.

“Yesterday, I f*cked a waitress / I came outside with my plate, she was waitin’ on me (Uh) / And y’all ain’t talkin’ ’bout sh*t / She be tellin’ me to smile when she ride my d*ck,” he raps on the J. Stacks-produced joint.

Coming just days after the controversial ‘Tough Skin’ video (which saw him reenact a crucifixion), look inside to hear ‘Waitress’ and peep its Reel Goats-directed music video.

While Ciara continues to make a mark in music, the singer is amplifying her presence as an entrepreneur too.

As reported, the GRAMMY winner on-boarded as a co-owner of Ten To One Rum last year. And last night (August 18), the star toasted to the brand’s latest touchdown.

CiCi was on-hand at the Gathering Spot in Los Angeles, CA where she joined a number of notable names to celebrate the latest investment in Ten To One. This time via Pronghorn – which has committed to 57 investments in Black-owned spirit brands over the next decade. The central goal? To champion the next generation of Black entrepreneurs, execs, and founders within the spirits sphere.

‘Jump’ performer Ciara was joined by Ten To One founder Marc Farrell, Pronghorn founders Dia Simms, Erin Harris, and Dan Sanborn, as well as Lolo Spencer, Jason Mitchell, and more.

Stefflon Don and Spice link up for flavorsome new collaboration ‘Clockwork.’

The potent pair make a splash with the Beem-produced bop, which serves as the lead release from Steff’s long-awaited album debut ‘Island 54.’ It’s been confirmed that the LP will serve as the first fruit of the star’s new global partnership with BMG (which will jointly release the project with her own imprint 54 London).

Choreographed by the incomparable Parris Goebel, the high-octane visual sees Steff and the Queen of Dancehall deliver like only they can.

Speaking on the release, Steff said:

“This track is a celebration of my Jamaican heritage and I wanted to make sure that shone through in all its elements. From the outfits I designed for the video to collaborating with the Queen of Dancehall herself, Spice. It’s a song made for Carnival; to dance to, drink to and party to. I can’t wait to hear it around London on the sound systems it was made for.”

Readers of That Grape Juice know how passionate we are about music – whether that be past or present.

However, unlike our other segments – Retro Rewind, TGJ Replay, and From The Vault – The Pop Stop is the most in-depth look at Pop songs that may have flown under the radar over the last week that you should know, rather they be from music’s biggest stars or those on the rise.

This week, we want to highlight cuts from Panic! At The Disco, Maren Morris and Zedd, New Hope Club, and Sara Kays.
