R&B royalty reigned on stage at Usher‘s My Way Las Vegas residency last night (September 4).

For, the hitmaker invited vocal powerhouse Tevin Campbell to join him for a special performance of the latter’s classic, ‘Can We Talk.’

Together, the duo delivered a collaborative take on the 1993 classic.

The showing was of particular note given Usher’s recent revelation that, upon signing his first record deal, the song ‘Can We Talk’ was initially promised to him before going to Campbell. It would go on to become the latter’s biggest hit to date (peaking at #9 on the Billboard Hot 100).

Today, we celebrate another trip around the sun for the reigning Queen of music, Beyonce.

This week’s From The Vault is the much loved, yet much underrated, ‘Ego.’

Written and produced by Blac Elvis and Beyonce herself, it was released as the sixth single from her 2008 double LP, ‘I Am…Sasha Fierce.’ Boasting bravado and attitude aplenty, the track saw Bey embark on the biggest swagger-a-thon… but as she says, she talks like this ‘cause she can back it up.

Gratingly, amidst the omnipresence of preceding offering ‘Single Ladies,’ ‘Ego’ never garnered the chart recognition it deserved in its own right and only peaked at #39 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and #60 on the Official UK Singles Chart. It was, however, nominated for a GRAMMY. Deservingly.

Directed by creative-extraordinaire Frank Gaston Jr., its black and white visual was reminiscent of the ‘Single Ladies.’ Indeed, the simplistic clip featured Beyonce, wrapped in a figure-hugging leotard, giving her all alongside two equally dynamic dancers.

Today and every day we salute Beyonce. We applaud her sense of risk and dedication, and we praise her ability to always capture the moment.

As we await the visuals for her thrilling latest set, ‘Renaissance,’ we’ll bask in the brilliance of this trip down memory lane; to a time few of us could have predicted just how much more epicness there was to come.

Happiest of birthdays, Queen Bey.

DJ Khaled has all the cause to give thanks this Sunday. Because the hitmaker has premiered atop of the pack with his star-studded new album, ‘God Did’.

Led by the single ‘Staying Alive (ft. Drake and Lil Baby),’ the guest-friendly set is packed to the brim with major appearances from the likes of JAY-Z, Future, Eminem, Latto, and the City Girls.

And it’s clear the mix of names, along with Khaled’s Midas touch, has led to a strong opening for the project.

As two of the most important Black artists to ever grace recorded music, Dionne Warwick (one of the best-selling female acts of all time) and Gladys Knight (the crowned ‘Empress of Soul’) not only boast six decades of impact respectively but they also own two of the most recognized names, voices, and faces in their field.

Despite the aforementioned, earlier this week – during one of Serena Williams‘ farewell tennis matches at the US Open – Twitter went up in flames when analyst/announcer Chanda Rubin misidentified Warwick as Knight (who were both in attendance at the star-studded showing).

Yet while the negative criticism poured in heavily for Rubin, Dionne and Gladys seemed to be the least offended by the mixup.

Funnyman Aries Spears has been getting everything BUT laughs over the last two weeks.

When not in headlines for allegations of sexual misconduct with minors, the 47-year-old was trending on Twitter for his unprovoked slamming of GRAMMY winner Lizzo for her appearance and public antics.

Likening the diva to the “sh*t emoji” in a recent interview (as we reported here), Spears’ fat-shaming attack found him on the receiving end of the very criticism he wielded against the songstress.

Sunday (August 28), Liz slyly clapped back at this comments while accepting an award at this year’s MTV VMAs.

Just days later, Aries’ interview with VLADTV surfaced in which he addressed her response to the haters.  Look inside to see what he said.
