‘Wait for U,’ the second single from Future‘s 10th studio album ‘I Never Liked You,’ not only debuted atop the Billboard Hot 100 this week thanks to handsome streams, radio airplay, and sales (as we reported here), but it also marked a personal milestone for the 38-year-old rapper.

His first #1 debut and inaugural chart-topper as a leader, the Drake & Tems-featured cut – which marks Future’s second time overall hitting the tally’s summit following 2021’s ‘Way 2 Sexy’ with Drake & Young Thug – also made history for becoming the first Hot 100 #1 premiere to feature a Nigerian artist.
