Sage the Gemini and Chris Brown have teamed up for their new song ‘Baby.’

After the song was previously teased on social media, it has finally seen the light of day. Produced by The Superiors, the melodic song makes no apologies for Gemini’s and Brown’s player ways.

The two are no stranger to collaborating together. Previously, they got together for the songs ‘Buss It,’ and ‘Outy When I Drive / Blamed.’ Additionally, they joined forces for Tank’s 2016 single ‘#BDAY.’

Brown’s latest collaboration comes on the same day as the video dropped for Jack Harlow‘s ‘Already Best Friends,’ on which Brown is featured.

Chris Brown may move at the speed of light when blazing the stage, but his latest hit is proving a textbook case of “slow and steady wins the race.”

Because, almost eight months after first cracking the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100, ‘Go Crazy’ – the star’s collaborative bop with Young Thug – has reached a new peak on the coveted count.

While fans didn’t exactly go crazy for the lead single from Chris Brown & Young Thug‘s joint ‘Slime & B’ mixtape upon its May 5, 2020 release, it wasn’t long before the slow-burning tune began scorching the upper half of the Hot 100.

By July of the year, the song had become Brown’s 16th career top 10 (as we reported here) – a positioning it maintained off-and-on over the course of the months to follow.

Now, 35 weeks after its premiere, ‘Crazy’ has cracked the top 5 – a radio-fueled accomplishment that’s been accompanied by a spot in Hot 100 history books.

While many R&B releases got thumbs up from critics in 2019, no two efforts waved the flag for the genre quite like Chris Brown‘s ‘Indigo’ and Summer Walker‘s ‘Over It.’

The former, a 37-track affair featuring the likes of Nicki Minaj, Justin Bieber, Trey Songz, and more, was deemed a return to form as it gifted Brown his first appearance in the Hot 100’s top 5 in over a decade courtesy of the wildly popular jam, ‘No Guidance’ (featuring Drake).  Similarly, ‘Over It’ – almost just as star-studded with high profile features from Usher, 6LACK, PartyNextDoor, and more – was the best performing female R&B project since Beyonce‘s ‘Lemonade’ in 2016.

As the popularity of both chart-topping opuses endures months after their releases, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) recently recognized their respective sales performances by awarding them certification plaques.  Walker’s debut album has been certified Gold (denoting sales equivalence of over 500,000 copies in the United States) while Christopher’s was christened Platinum (denoting sales equivalence of over 1,000,000 in the United States).
