Rapper Game this week released his new mixtape ‘Purp and Patron‘.  Hosted by Funkmaster Flex and DJ Skee, the set features collaborations with a number acts including T-Pain, Pharrell Williams, Snoop Dogg, and Ashanti. The latter features on the Dr Dre produced ‘Soft Rhodes’, which many have been anticipating since images of the trio in the studio made the rounds on the net last year.

Is the song any good, though? Take a listen after the jump…

This week’s That Grape Juice Cover Star is Brian Davis. The Seattle resident serves up a sound redition of Whitney Houston‘s ‘I Look To You’.

Check it out below:

Great performance! Powerful, emotive, and controlled, Brian importantly made the song his own – opting not to simply rehash the adlibs and isms present on the song or in Whitney’s live renditions of it. Instead he garnished the track with his own runs and such, resulting in a really refreshing take on solid song. {Hits ‘play’ again}

What’s the first thing you do when released from a mental facility? Why, of course, have an ice-cream cone tattooed onto your face. At least that was the thought-process of rapper Gucci Mane – who, upon completing a stint at mental rehab, hit up the tattoo parlour to get inked in the face. {Source: The YBF}

I’m all for freedom of expression, but….no. Just no.

When will Gucci, Lil’ Wayne, and co, realise that this is not a good look now, speak less of when they hit their 40’s, 50’s, and so on. Ugh.

Albums, singles, DVD’s, clothing, pencil cases, jewelry and even nail polish. Just a few of the products Justin Bieber‘s name has been attached to. With time and puberty proven waiters for no one, the teen-wonder’s team appear adamant on cashing-in on the star’s astronomical success while the going’s good. Hence next on the agenda, as earlier reported, is docu-movie ‘Never Say Never’ – which chronicles the 16 year old’s rise to fame and apparent ‘hardships’.

Set to hit theatres next month, a new clip from the movie has surfaced. Check out the hilarity after the jump…

Never underestimate the pulling power of Pop titan Britney Spears. At least that’s the lesson many are learning in light of the sales of the superstar’s new single ‘Hold It Against Me’.

First heard and made available for purchase less than 24 hours ago, the Max Martin produced cut has already rocketed to the top of the charts.

It’s been a tough few years for R&B trier Ray J. Incessantly cast in the shadow of his sister Brandy, the singer (who turns 30 next week) briefly found success with singles ‘One Wish’ and ‘Sexy Can I’ – only to fade out of public consciousness with his releases thereafter.

Back with a new label (SRC/Universal), and the platform of  VH1 reality show ‘A Family Business’, Ray today premiered the video for ‘Celebration’ – the first single to be lifted from his fifth studio album ‘Raydiation 2’.

Ever get the feeling you’re saying entirely too much? One has to wonder if that was the case when will.i.am spoke of the late Michael Jackson‘s thoughts on a certain Cheryl Cole. (No I didn’t think he knew of her either)
