The video for Britney Spears’ new single ‘If U Seek Amy’ premiered literally moments ago on her official website — and it’s a winner.

Though lacking the polish and sheen of its predecessors (‘Womanizer’ and ‘Cirus’), the video for the cheekily titled song (say ‘If U Seek Amy’ really fast to get what I mean) has a great (and all-round better) concept IMO. In terms of choreography, expectedly Ms. Spears doesn’t offer much in the way of intricate moves (I guess her mojo will come back with time), yet she delivers with what she does do.

More than anything, though, it’s great to see her back doing her. Good stuff.

Peep Cassie and her Bad Boy label head Diddy in the studio mixing th final version of her new single ‘Must Be Love’, which was produced by Bryan Michael Cox.
Though I’ll leave it to you to make your decision as to whether the track sounds anything like the ‘classic’ Diddy triumphantly labels it, I must say I feel it’s nothing to scream. With everyone and their mother knowing Cassie is vocally-challenged, I’m perplexed as to why she and her team insist on going with mid-tempo’s (see: ‘Official Girl’) to re-launch her. The obvious and more logical thing to do IMO would be to play to her strengths and drop an uptempo club banger (ala ‘Me & U’ and ‘Long Way 2 Go’). I really need to be working with some of these labels from time to time…LOL

Ciara - 'Fantasy Ride' Cover
We can exclusively reveal the official album cover for her forthcoming LP ‘Fantasy Ride’ (due May 5th).
About the cover, erm…well…no.
Edit: This *really* is the official cover!
On a more postive note, Ms. Harris’ ‘Love, Sex, Magic’ is doing very well on radio.

Jackson To Release New Single / AlbumWith thousands of fans around the world desperately trying to secure pre-sale Michael Jackson ‘This Is It’ tickets as I type, it being reported that The King of Pop will be releasing a new single prior to the first show, as well as potentially an album:

Michael Jackson will reportedly release a new single and album ahead of his comeback shows in July.

The singer has written ‘hundreds’ of songs since his last LP in 2001 and plans to premiere new music before his residency at London’s O2 arena.

“There will be a new Michael Jackson single before the first date,” concert promoter Randy Phillips confirmed.

“Michael has got some new music and he is looking for a new way of disseminating his material to his fans.”

Promoters AEG suggested that the star may give away a brand new album to fans at his shows, a measure used by Prince in 2007.

The ‘This Is It’ concerts, which kick off on July 8, are expected to feature state of the art visual effects throughout the planned 90-minute shows.

“He wants to use some technical effects that have never been seen before.” {Source}

The news just keeps getting better and better. As I’ve said already, this really is shaping up to be ‘the’ comeback of all comebacks.

The video for LeToya Luckett’s brand new single ‘Not Anymore’ premiered today. Directed by Bryan Barber (Outkasts”Hey Ya’, ‘Roses’), the Dreamgirl-esq clip sees Luckett play the role of a 1960’s singer, who catapults to success, ditching her no good boyfriend in the process.
While I have a kind of like-dislike relationship with the song, I must say that I’m really liking the video. Aside from the fact that it sees LeToya doing something different compared to her last time out, it’s a concept that stands out in an age of so-so, ‘run of the mill’ videos. A great effort. {Thanks Ced!}
LeToya’s sophomore LP ‘Lady Love’ hits stores May 19th.

RollingOut.com sat down with R&B singer Nivea recently, with the end result being a mix between hilarious and disturbing. In this must-see interview, the ‘Laundromat’ singer, who seemed to be under the influence of something, spoke candidly about her relationship with ex-husband The-Dream, being a mother and more.
Beyond what she’s saying, this is essential viewing, just to see how she carried on. I really didn’t know whether to laugh or feel sorry for her at some points. Either way, the moral of this one is quite simply that…
CRACK IS WACK!
(Or whatever it is she was on)

The Chris Brown / Rihanna assault drama is really set to take a turn for the worse, with the police report surfacing on the net and in the media more generally today. You can watch the CNN’s report on the shocking (yes, shocking) content of the affidavit – which describes in detail what exactly happened on that evening in February- or you can read it for yourself below.

Damn!!! Having been one of those waiting to hear some facts, rather than indulging in the unconfirmed rumors, I must say Chris *really, really, really* played himself with this. He’s done, finished, gone IMO. If Ms. Fenty opts to stay with him, as reports have suggested, we can say hello to our next Whitney and Bobby. SMH…

Eminem To Readies 'Relapse' For May 19th
After more than 4 years out of the limelight (well kinda), Eminem is prepping not one, but two albums this year. Peep the report below via Billboard:

Eminem is making his “Relapse” a double: not only did the best selling rapper reveal the release date for his highly-anticipated return to the rap game, but he announced that the follow-up will drop in 2009 too.

“Relpase,” Eminem’s first full album of new material in four years, is due from Interscope/Aftermath/Shady on May 19. The album’s first single, “Crack the Bottle,” is currently at No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100. A second album, “Relapse 2,” is promised before the end of the year. “A lot of people were expecting Relapse to drop last year,” said Eminem in a statement. “I was one of them. Then Dre and I went back in the studio in September for a few days, and that turned into six months. We were on such a roll; we wound up with a ton of new music produced by Dre.”

Hmmm. ‘Stan’ and ‘Lose Yourself’ aside, I’ve never really been big on Mr Mathers. What’s more, in the time he’s been gone, I may be wrong, but I can’t say his presence in the Hip-Hop world was missed on any level of significance. So I’m kinda pessimistic about this all. That said, I guess time will tell…
Are you still checking for Eminem?

The King of Pop Michael Jackson confirmed moments ago what media sources have been buzzing about for the last week now – that he will officially launch his return to the stage here in in the UK. Jackson, 50,  is set to embark on a multi-date stint at London’s famed O2 venue.
In a brief speech, the megastar revealed that the 10 shows, of which the first date is July 8th (more expected to be added later), will be his last in the UK – ever. His final ‘curtain call’, as he billed it.
Sources are informing That Grape Juice that tickets will go on sale on Friday 13th March at 7am. Prices are said to be £75 for floor and 1st tier seats and £45 for higher tier seats.
As a MJ fan since childhood, I can’t help but feel elated at the news – especially as he’s heading to our side of the pond on such a grand scale; after all it is his big, much anticipated ‘comeback’. Michaelmania 09 really seems to be in full effect as the media are all over this, as are the fans.
I know I’ll be there (damn, I was supposed to be there today at the press conference, but RSPV’d too late. Ugh!)…
Will you you be going to see Michael?

R&B star Keyshia Cole stopped by The Chelsea Lately Show this week to discuss her BET reality show ‘The Way It Is’, her crazy mother Frankie, Tupac’s promise to her before he died and more. An pretty good interview, I must say. Chelsea always has me rolling LOL.

Report: Chris Brown & Rihanna Back Together
According to People.com, controversial pair Chris Brown and Rihanna are set to become even more controversial, with it being reported that they are back together – following Brown’s much publicised assault of the ‘Umbrella’ singer:
Rihanna and Chris Brown are back together, PEOPLE has learned exclusively.
The pair have reunited almost three weeks after Brown, 19, allegedly battered the “Umbrella” singer on Feb. 8, a source tells PEOPLE.
“They’re together again. They care for each other,” says the source. The on-again couple are currently spending time together at one of Sean “Diddy” Combs’s homes, on Miami Beach’s Star Island.
Adds the source: “While Chris is reflective and saddened about what happened, he is really happy to be with the woman he loves.”
In its latest issue, PEOPLE reports that Brown called Rihanna on her 21st birthday one week ago. “He called to wish her happy birthday,” a source told the magazine. “They’ve reached out to each other. It’s been mutual.”
Brown was booked by LAPD for making criminal threats but the case has not yet been presented to the District Attorney, who will ultimately determine which charges, if any, will be prosecuted.
I’m sure tongues will be more than wagging with this one. I must say, should Rihanna get back with Chris, granted their whole union wasn’t a publicity stunt, I would retract my comments about her coming out of this situation ‘the winner’. I can’t see many sympathising with her or taking her all that seriously, should she go that route. That said, the matter is between them, so I dunno.
