As the age-old adage goes, overnight success is often years in the making. A notion that is especially applicable to Acraze.

The 27-year-old has been steadily grinding on the scene, polishing his skills and building a growing base. As such, when he experienced sudden and seismic success with breakout smash ‘Do It To It’ (which has accrued more than 22 billion streams to date), the rising star was ready-prepped to hit the ground – and live circuit.

One of his latest stops was MDLBEAST Soundstorm. There, That Grape Juice sat down with music maestro, who dished on his beginnings, ‘Do It To,’ and carving out a potent presence within music and beyond.

Davido is back!

The Afrobeats titan has unleashed his brand new album ‘Timeless.’

Arriving as the Nigerian performer’s first LP since 2020’s ‘A Better Time,’ the set sees the star moving forward after much-publicized hardship.

Speaking on the release (which serves as a fusion of sounds), Davido said:

“Timeless is a body of work that goes beyond fashion and trends it’s an authentic body of work that remains true to my core as an artist- using my music to bring joy to my fans across the world. The songs you hear today will be just as relevant tomorrow, that’s why it’s TIMELESS.”

Featuring collaborations with the likes of Asake, Dexta Daps, and Skepta, the album makes its debut in the run-up to his freshly announced comeback shows.

Aptly titled ‘A Timeless Night With Davido,’ the jaunt will see the stage blazer host one-off shows in cities such as London (April 5) and a homecoming show in Lagos.

With collaborative ventures or solo singles like ‘New Normal,’ ‘Last Call,’ ‘Present,’ ‘Skyline,’ and ‘Satellite,’ singer-songwriter Khalid kept fans fed with new music over the last two years and eager to learn the fate of his third studio album – the serially delayed ‘Everything is Changing.’

And while he’s yet to offer an official update on the project’s status, he continues to tease cuts that may line its tracklist. The latest of such stature is ‘Softest Touch.’

A mellow, laidback groove, ‘Touch’ hears Khalid praise a love interest for having everything he’s looking for in a woman.

“You’ve got the softest touch, I just can’t get enough / When it comes to you, you are the one I want / You’ve got the softest touch, I just can’t get enough / This touch, you’ll always be the one I want,” he croons on the hook of the Vaughn Oliver, Blake Straus, and Nico Stadi-produced jam.

Since late 2021 with the arrival of her Platinum-selling debut solo single, ‘Have Mercy,’ singer-songwriter Chloe Bailey has had fans saying just that as she blazes a path up Billboard charts without the help of her sister, Halle Bailey (as part of the sister act ChloexHalle).

And while ‘Mercy’ counts itself among a string of introductory tunes that didn’t make the final cut for Chloe’s debut solo album, ‘In Pieces,’ those scrapped cuts certainly set the pace for it.

On the wings of warmly-received songs ‘Body Do,’ ‘How Does It Feel,’ ‘Pray It Away,’ and its title cut, March 31 brings with it the GRAMMY nominee’s long-awaited inaugural body of work courtesy of Beyoncé’s Parkwood Entertainment and Columbia Records.

‘A Thousand and One’ has been earning rave reviews for resonating reasons.

Anchored by Teyana Taylor and written/directed by A.V. Rockwell, the moving film tells the story of the spirited Inez who returns home to Harlem, NYC in the mid-’90s.

While reacclimating, she encounters a youngster named Terry who is on the cusp of entering the foster care system. Inez follows her heart and takes him into her own care…illegally. What follows is an emotional rollercoaster ride that spans 12 years.

That Grape Juice‘s Chet Kincaid sat down with Taylor and Rockwell for an intimate roundtable discussion in New York City.

During the candid discussion, the dynamic duo opened up about the creative process of the movie (which won the Sundance Grand Jury Prize), cliches, growing up in Harlem, the realities of gentrification, and more.
