Crazy Fan Interrupts Solange Show

Published: Wednesday 13th Aug 2008 by Sam
Back from her promotional stop in Europe, Solange performed at the Soul Picnic 2008 festival this past weekend in the States. During her set, an obviously ‘not all there in the head’ fan got carried away and proceeded to jump on stage. Luckily for him Solange wasn’t as fazed as one may think. Check out the hilarity below:

LMAO!

  14. Anonymous August 13, 2008

haha. That was hilarious. Homeboy was high, drunk, all that. Solange handled it well, but if it was me I probably would have kicked him off the stage. Like the previous poster said, people are crazy.

  15. Shane August 13, 2008

    Solange truly has class!
    This was hilarious!
Despite the interruption, she proved that she’s not only a great singer, but I think, maybe even up to par or better than her spotlight hogging sister.

    WOW thats great
Solange is the truth i was a fan already too like many have said but this made me like her even more that was so down to earth of her.
    GREAT ARTIST!!

  17. gawd4you August 13, 2008

Wow lol i dont think anyone including myself i know would have handled that the same way. I think that not only made her classy it made her believable. Vocally shes improved and her style seem more like shes taking charge of what she wants and it works for me.

  18. Anonymous August 13, 2008

That warmed me, especially the part when she said he “aint hurt nobody” and danced with him (i was thinking aint hurt nobody yet) If it was Beyonce there would have been a worldwide security alert with the show finished. Let the Beyonce backlash begin…

  19. Anonymous August 13, 2008

I heart Solange. She sounded great. She is very professional. Look how she handled it when the music was messing up. That was sooo nice of her to let him stay on stage. Class Act indeed. She is so down 2 earth

  20. tia August 13, 2008

IDK IF ANYBODY HAS POSTED ABOUT IT YET BUT I HEARD A SONG BY BRANDY CALLED “DEPARTED” AND ITS SAID TO BE HER FIRST SINGLE IS ITS A GREAT SONG….HOPEFULLY I WAS THE FIRST TO STUMBLE UPON IT,IF NOT AH WELL LOL

    B-ROCKA!!!!

solange is really a class act I give her her props where it’s do.great job solange

  22. antertain August 14, 2008

    she smashed it
thats real and we are all people.

    Very well handled

I think when the security took him and he just walked humbled with no reaction i think Solange thought “why not” just keep him up..

She even gave him a shout out 2 the audience…
    Sol-Angel

  23. Anonymous August 14, 2008

that was BIG of her to do…

  24. Anonymous August 14, 2008

i agree with everyone that it was a nice thing of her to do for that guy seemingly as he was “not all there”…and she did handle it in an upstanding way…but i can agree with some people in that it was crazy because he could have been a f****** n** that tried to eventually attack her…this wasn’t just some fan who wanted to dance with solange…something was obviously not right about him…if it was me i wouldn’t have been phased but as the security took his ass away…i would have waved bye and said “i love a little audience participation…THANK YOU!…” f*** that.

  25. Anonymous August 14, 2008

I thought Solange handled herself very professionally. The fan was a little wasted but clearly you could see that he was not out to attack or hurt anyone. He looked as if he wanted a taste of fame and Solange allowed him is 15 seconds.

Because of her reaction to it all has made me see her in a totally different light unlike Bey, who clearly seems unapproachable, even with people who are in their right mind.

  26. LadyVicious August 14, 2008

Yes! She killed that and she was a pro about it.

  27. Anonymous August 14, 2008

aww that was so nice of her..so much respect for that girl..don’t get me wring i love her but thats where her and her sisiter are VERY different

  28. Anonymous August 14, 2008

i personally think the fan was more drunk than crazy, but hey u see it didn’t bother her. beyonce my girl, but she probably would have been terrified if that happened to her. lol

  29. Anonymous August 14, 2008

you’ll areso silly that wasan act to no1 lie her no2 get people to watch the clip can’t believe you’ll fell for that but she is a good performer anyways brandy’s back

  30. Anonymous August 14, 2008

That was cool that she let him stay on stage with her but at the same time it was scary. God bless you Ms. Solange for keeping it real.
Also I hope she lets her security people have it for not securing her like they should.

  31. Anonymous August 14, 2008

    she sounds good!

  32. Anonymous August 14, 2008

how did he even get his ass up there in the first place, cool of her to let him stay, but i see where people coming from, never know who’s a n**…greyhound..

  33. Michael August 15, 2008

  36. Nick August 17, 2008

U BETTR WORK SOLANGE! the performance was HOTTT & u handled tht VERY WELL, like a tru person, we all knw us blk folk jst like 2 dance & hav fun, I AM SO READY 4 her album!!!

  37. Anna August 18, 2008

I tpotaly adore her and that she let him stay shows that she’s great and confident and it was really nice of herand really cool!!

  38. Smurf August 18, 2008

i think that was very professional of her. That’s how u know she has real talent and not just trying to ride off the coattails of her sister’s fame. She sang without the music when technical difficulties started. And she was very down to earth with her fans and took everything in stride. she could’ve just stood there until they fixed the music but she didn’t. And that fan was mentally handicapped not drunk or high (drunk or high alters your balance and he was dancing all around and didn’t get dizzy and lose his balance not once…. think, guys) and she just made his day by letting him stay on the stage. He didn’t try to grab her or fondle or harm her, he just danced with her. That just showed a lot about her personality and she won over a lot of fans with that one.

That’s such a cool thing to do. What a sweetie.
“He ain’t hurtin’ nobody! Let him stay!”
    I love that.
