The ‘net has been abuzz the last few months with whispers that Kelly Rowland had ended her management relationship with Mathew Knowles – Beyonce’s father. It appears the such murmurings are only intensifying, with a new report claiming the ‘Like This’ singer really has moved on to pastures new:
Former DESTINY’S CHILD star KELLY ROWLAND has reportedly dumped the man who took her in as a teenager and managed her to pop stardom – former bandmate BEYONCE’s dad. The singer has parted company with Mathew Knowles following a heated row, according to website Bossip.com.
A highly-placed source in Rowland’s camp tells the website the split has been on the cards for months – because the Dilemma singer is unhappy she’s not a bigger star in America.
A spokeswoman for Bossip.com says, “We were told Kelly was really upset that she’s not better represented in the United States. She’s a big hit in Europe, but not in America.”
Publicists for Knowles and his MusicWorld organisation were unavailable for comment as WENN went to press. {Source}

Kelly is not promoted correctly, neither respected in the U.S. by fans because of her loyalty to the Destiny clan. When I first heard this, I thought it was a media ploy conjured up by Matthew Knowles, with a back door deal with Simon Fuller’s management. If Kelly truly breaks free, more people will respect her, but she’s going to have to totally reconstruct her career.
Destiny’s Child was a nice “second-fiddle” ride money-wise, but a disaster when going solo. So she’s going to have to flip that, and get a team that establishes/supports her as a strong solo artist while keeping that DC-like money/fan numbers. Good blessings to Kelly, good or not.

I really hope this is her Janet/COntrol moment!! Kelly’s last album was pretty good and showed potential on tracks like “Work” and “Flashback” or “Still In Love w/my ex”.

How you gon say the US market belongs to Beyonce and LeToya when the latter only has one solo hit under her belt? Beyonce is slowly but surely becoming overkill. This was a very smart move on Kelly’s part. This only makes people wonder what’s next? Will you talk about what happened in much detail during interviews. I do agree it’s an uphill battle, but with GOD, her loyal fans, and the fans to come, she’ll be just fine!! I LOVE YA KELLS!!!!

Thank god!!!! there is light at the end of the tunnel..everybody and their mama could see what was going except for Kelly. She has NOTHING to loose by leaving Matthew Knowles so why not give it a try, now only if Michelle would follow suit because because the Knowles clan DOES NOT CARE about Kelly and Michelle!!

Its been about 7 seven years now..stop blaming Beyonce Dad for Kelly short comings…Everyone is not meant to be a star…Kelly have to sing the songs and Kelly have to perform the songs…SHe is not that entertaining enough to gather a crew of fans without DC…Her record label puts out a budget for each album and based on previous sales her budget seems to get smaller and smaller..so that means promotion for the album is limited…SHe is a bigger star in the UK, so her budget in the Uk is bigger meaning more promotion.which is why she is more successful in the IK…But if i am not mistaken…they spent money on three videos and three singles on Ms. Kelly album…in the USA…more than certain artist that sell more receive….Get over it people..its not Mathew Knowles…its Kelly Rowlands…and correction its not Beyonce and Letoya holding it down…its Beyonce and Rihana…Kelly have to bring something better than what she is offering because Rihana for some strange reason as the industry on lock with our younger generation and Beyonce have our generation on lock..

I live in Texas, and I like Kelly. If she can sing songs that are more upbeat than ballads, then I will be a fan of Kelly Rowland (“Work”). I like all the members of Destiny Child. I hate that Beyonce took the entire spotlight in Destiny Child, but I guess that what happen when your parents started and supported the group. I hope this information is true. Kelly Rowland needs to leave Matthew Knowles in order to become and international star. Matthew Knowles cannot help Kelly reach her dreams when he is trying to help his daughters reach their dreams. Being a part of Destiny Child helped her get a fan base. Now she has to create her own image away from Destiny Child. She can appreciate all the work Matthew Knowles did to help Destiny Child become a successful group without letting go of her dreams.

I'm sorry to say this, but all I see is that this is nothing but another, No-Win Situation for BEYONCE!!! Thats all it is to me. And I say that because, now "If" Kelly FLOPS again, there will be nothing but excuses about, Oh its too little too late. But I can recall when Kelly had appearances & performances on Regis & Kelly or The View, one of those shows my mother was watching and I saw Kelly & her performance was TRASH!!! Not a good look for someone who was apart of Matthew Knowles "Alleged" Boot Camp! It makes me wonder if this boot camp BS is a myth because it looks like only Beyonce benefited from the Boot Camp!

I agree with young one. That is so true if this rumor is true about Kelly and she does leave Matthew and her album FLOPS it won't be because of Matthew. It'll be because Kelly isn't doing what she needs to do. True I do blame Matthew for marketing as well as A&R reps, and the label because they should want Kelly to be just as successful but at the end of the day like I heard someone say if your label ain't gone do it for you, then you need to get out there and do it yourself. Shoot spend your own money to help you and I know Kelly got some. Artist need to quit relying on their label to help them if they aren't doing it already and make it happen for themselves.
