Keri Hilson has had enough.
In what has become a constant occurrence since the release of “that song”, the R&B songstress was again the subject of Twitter abuse after posting an innocent comment on the social network last night.

The episode commenced when the ‘Pretty Girl Rock’ singer wrote the following on her official page yesterday evening:

For reasons that continue to puzzle us, Hilson was then flooded with an influx of hate mail from fans of her chart rivals. And while this has sadly become common practice (as has her silence on such topics), the 30 year old was not to let this instance slide. Clearly frustrated, she shot back saying:

As cynical and spiteful as some have (and will continue to be), we actually feel bad for Keri. Because celebrity or otherwise, cyber-bullying is never okay. Ever.
Opinions are like behinds, everyone has one. And it’s, of course great to share, probe, and debate. Yet, systematically attacking someone in the name of an artist who would themselves would side-eye such actions makes approximately no sense.
It takes a mature person to acknowledge wrong decisions - especially in the way Hilson did above. Hopefully those “dragging” her will take her lead.

Her problem is that she simply just isn’t likeable. She comes across as standoffish, rude and quite full of herself, which is interesting considering her limited solo success. Her music is barely passable, even after working with some amazing producers. The Beyonce thing took it to a different level but I’m hard pressed to have any sympathy for her. I’m the furthest thing from a Beyonce fan but Keri clearly went out of her way to disrespect her, both implicitly and explicitly.

The fact that a fan can be so attached to a celebrity that he/she speaks hateful words in their defense is a truly sad indication of a more serious issue. It’s a problem when you hold grudges as a favor to someone who you don’t know personally and who only acknowledges your existence after you’ve bought a couple albums and a few concert tickets. Hell, even MJ was close to his fans and he was the biggest popstar ever.

As a Beyonce FAN, I used to feel the same way but I think a lot of people confuse Beyonce’s introverted personality with her being stand-offish with her fans.
Beyonce is a boring, quiet introvert. If you notice, she doesn’t even have a big group of friends. The only people I only ever see her hanging out with is her family, Jay, & Kelly Rowland so that’s why I think her stans shouldn’t take it to heart.
I would still rather support a quiet Beyonce who is still humble, than another pop star who has let fame & fortune inflate their ego to the point where they start calling members of their own fanbase ugly (Rihanna).

I really think it depends on the individual really because for me, Beyoncé shows so much love and gratitude to her fans at her shows where it matters. Shes always pouring her heart out to them there, and too me that’s where it matters cos its genuine and personal and doesn’t seem publicity fueled. Not to mention how she always goes HARD for them performance wise even in the most intimate settings. Like I said before, actions speak louder than words.

I personally don’t think it should be a surprise when a song writer does not like Beyonce. Beyonce’s track record speaks for itself as far as stealing credits. Beyonce is very good at faking class but this unfortunately is not the case with her fanbase. The general public sees this and Beyonce the artist is the one who will pay the ultimate price because no one wants to associate with psychopaths even if they are doing it in the name of love.
