Lauryn Hill is back.

After a brief stint in the slammer, the eight time Grammy winner returned to television this week to perform on the Late Show With David Letterman.

L-Boogie was tapped to tribute iconic band The Beatles – who are celebrating the 50th anniversary of their first US performance this week.

The former Fugees front-woman crowned the show’s week-long homage to the group with a rendition of the Fab Four’s iconic hit ‘Something’.

How did she fare? Find out below…

Decent.

Tomorrow sees a host of other stars – including Lady GaGa, Alicia Keys, Pharrell Williams, John Legend, and Katy Perry,  honor the Brit legends on ‘The Beatles: The Night That Changed America – A Grammy Salute’. The must-see show hits screens by way of CBS at 8pm.

her singing voice has developed a world weariness thats surprisingly very pretty. i like that she doesn’t really seem to have control of her vibrato anymore. its turned into that quivery machine gun tremolo. just stunning. i hope she sings on this album. the energy of this performance just screams janis joplin.

haven’t been this impressed with her in a while.

she should duet with fiona apple. that would be two serious powerhouse divas going toe to toe. it would be raw and stunning.

The struggle for her to hit those notes on pitch…

If she didn’t decide to cancel her concert last night for a second time I would’ve been able to see her perform live. I know what some of you might be thinking, but this performance was pre-taped. Not feeling her too much right now!

Wow, talking about ending on a downer – this was the WORST of the week’s five tributes! Her pitchy warbling is UNLISTENABLE!
