The journey to Tinashe‘s ‘Joyride’ has been quite the rollercoaster. And while there’s no official word on when the sophomore set will land, there’s now fresh evidence that the engine is about to crank all the way up. Again.

During an interview in the radio room over the BET Awards weekend, the singer revealed that she has a new single named ‘Super Love’ on the way…
Its arrival comes after a somewhat start-stop roll-out for the project last year. Indeed, a slew of songs including ‘Party Favors’ and the Chris Brown assisted ‘Player’ were released and then…nothing. The star even embarked on a US ‘Joyride Tour’ and then…nothing.
Clearly something behind the scenes has transpired, but we hope – with this news of a single – that all has been ironed out.
Tinashe has the potential to be a top-tier talent, so fingers crossed the stars align right this go round.

Kelly has a good bit of writing credits. I’m not even a huge kelly fan but it’s a fact. Go look her albums up on wiki and you’ll see. She probably writes more than beyonce, and definitely more than rihanna. Tinashe is a songwriter before she’s a singer so you can’t compare them. Tinashe is more like Keri Hilson or something, a songwriter who sings. Kelly is a singer who writes songs too.
Tinashe is like a The-Dream or Ne-Yo and Kelly is like a Trey Songz or Chris Brown
Tinashe is a songwriter first because she writes for other people. Kelly only writes for herself.
I could care less her contribution to fifth harmony latest album is ??????? though,she should just stick to writing.

The reason she doesn’t have a release date is because every attempt they’ve given her has failed. Party Favors went no where. Player, even with Chris Brown, went no where. Her mix tape came and went. That tour did nothing. Opening for Beyonce did nothing. Doing the Janet tribute at the BET Awards did nothing. Yes she can dance but people just aren’t here for it. Her team had all the urban media calling her the next big thing when her album dropped and it went no where. Its clear that her and her team want her to be a star. She should stop chasing the charts and just put out the music. Let it happen organically.
I see no reason to disagree! Some people aren’t meant to be the “next big thing” no matter how talented/attractive their are.
first off what mixtape are you speaking on? Party Favors was not a single and there has been no official second single from this album yet. I agree with a lot of what youre saying but please get your facts straight.
Tinashe should leave RCA before they drop her, and then go independent and release Joyride as a mixtape for now (given the fact that she’s dropped 5 songs from the album already and made it through most of her tour). Then she should go shopping for a big label next year.
For now I could do with another mixtape or EP at least. She has Sleeper BOPS!

Just the fact Tinashe financed her own tour, leaked “Party Favors” early and linked herself in getting a platinum & gold single with Snakehips by her own doing shows how much she cares about her art. I wished the female artists in the past I’ve been rooting for was this serious, they would literally allow record labels to have them play bench until they’re ready for them.

Her Aquarius album was fire. And all singles released minus “player” was nice. I think someone is worried idk if it’s her or her team.. I really think she could have stretched the “Aquarious” Era out longer. It’s like she rushed to the next album and now she stuck for some reason..

I love Kelly Rowland but please don’t bring her into this conversation. In my humble opinion Kelly simply doesn’t have the drive to achieve high success. I don’t blame her I blame Mathew Knowls. I think he always trained her to be a background singer from a child. I think Michelle is more successful with her gospel career simply because she wasn’t raised by Matthew. One thing I hate is when people blame Beyonce for the lack of Kelly’s “star power” but I believe in my heart Beyonce loves her. Also Kelly sounds horrible live! She needs backing track and I also think some of her songs are in a higher key than they should be. I wish singers/producers would learn to work with the artists tone and lower registers. You don’t always have to hit the high note to slay. Look at brandy. I whenever Beyonce’ sings in her lower register she slays. I love Kelly. P.s she needs to stop picking June’s Diary’s songs! The hype over a dancer with an average and generic sounding voice and music is being done to death. I’m happy for to find success organically, but when we start to hype the norm is when we have a problem.
I’m pretty sure that there are girls that have different and unique voices that can also dance that maybe deserve some exposure. I think that Tinashe is a favourite because of her looks and ability to look good in a dress.
