The latest manifested in the form of the scrapping of her upcoming ‘Bad Girls Tour.’
Initially set to feature guests Saweetie and cupcakKe, the trek first hit an iceberg when the latter announced her exit. Shortly after it became apparent that the entire jaunt was in jeopardy.
Confirming that the shows will not be taking place, the Aussie bred beauty has issued a statement.

Yours truly actually feels for Iggy.
She’s clearly still suffering the blow-back of the initial backlash – some of which was her fault, some of which was not.
Sadly, despite making bops and generally being unproblematic these days, it seems the stars are refusing to align for her at this time.
She seems to have the right idea about keeping the music a’coming and trying again at a later point.
She needs to clean house with her team. It’s time for her to hire new people if she wants the success that she once had.

I don’t get it. How can you have so many Instagram followers and so many views on YouTube and still have no support? It’s crazy because if I was the promoter I would think that she could sell an arena is due to the fact that people are still checking for her so to speak so of YouTube and Numbers and Instagram followings don’t mean anything how do you truly know if someone is poppin or not?

@Really – People want something for nothing. It’s called GAWKER LISTENS. People want to listen/free download aka consume music for FREE and it’s all really unfortunate because it’s art. People like to be in the know so they attach themselves to these celebrities via the platform that they are available to them, social media. So none of this stuff makes since when you look at it from a numbers standpoint but when you actually analyze it, it’s not hard to understand WHY none of these people with tons of followers do so poorly.

This all makes sense @Superstar. But what I dont get is why we reward these artists? Thats the thing with streaming, it appears to inflate a false reality. 85 million people listen for free, 60 people actually BUY it and all of sudden this is the number 1 record and “hottest artist”. I know that its all fantasy to a certain degree but im just glad I came of age with a truer barometer of what’s really “hot”.
@Keith – I agree with you in regards to the titles and accolades given for “sales” during this streaming error. Unfortunately people are SELECTIVELY purchasing music these days as SOME artists/groups don’t have as hard a time selling as others. More so, they are consuming music freely at a higher rate than traditional consumption so it’s either get on board and try to create something out of this or fall behind and miss out on revenue. It’s a really tricky spot right now.
The best that we can hope for/strive for his a way to keep music from being illegally downloaded but I think a lot of people will question/fight it. It’s like people say that Big Pharma make tons of money from treating the common cold rather than creating a medicine that can cure it. Do we want to create technologies that will prevent people from being able to down music onto the internet or more than one listening device or at at all? And if we do then how will the public perceive this? Perhaps as just another way for THE LABELS to keep making money or will they see it as a way to protect the artists and their investments?
I think this matter is too deep for this section but I agree with you. I think that an asterisk should be placed by the new “streaming” stats much like in baseball when people were found to have used performance enhancing drugs to inflate their stats. Ever player had an asterisk put by their stat or name.
That is the problem with social media and the music business today. Just because people want to see you don’t mean they want to buy your voice. Perhaps people want to see her body move in videos or see her take half naked pics for insta? That has nothing to do with people paying to see her rap on a stage or buying her new music. The rules of the stage have NOT changed. Artists with a lot of hits under their belt will do better touring if they have a good stage show. Artists that are just 1 or 2 hit wonders do better as opening acts rather than headliners. It is hard work. Iggy and her fans think she done did something when by music industry standards she needs way more hits to headline a tour.
I don’t know why she keeps trying to make FETCH happen.
