Sporting a look designed to remind fans of her strongest era to date, Lady GaGa caught up with ‘South by South West’ to announce her performance on the event’s ‘Doritos’ stage, much to the delight of her ‘little Monsters.’

While there, the piano playing Pop royal announced the March 13th arrival of the show and urged fans to engage in a challenge set to bring them closer to the hotly anticipated set, encouraging them to embrace their individuality and ‘be bold.’

As he gears up to welcome his first child with R&B siren Ciara, Future continues on his efforts to push new album ‘Honest’ today, doing so by releasing its track list and hailing it… ‘classic.‘

Quite interestingly, despite Nicki Minaj revealing that she was to feature on the project last year, the track list below does not feature the ‘The Other Woman‘ star, but does boast verses from Drake,  Andre 3000 and ‘Fireman‘ Lil Wayne.

When not blazing stages, Beyonce lends her superstar brand to many a charitable effort.

Indeed, beyond the singer’s own #BeyGood initiative, Ban Bossy is the latest empowerment campaign the 32-year old is supporting.

Aimed at young girls, Ban promotes the idea of erasing of the word “bossy” when it comes to describing leadership potential in females. For, according to its manifesto:

“When a little boy asserts himself, he’s called a “leader.” Yet when a little girl does the same, she risks being branded “bossy.” Words like bossy send a message: don’t raise your hand or speak up. By middle school, girls are less interested in leading than boys—a trend that continues into adulthood. Together we can encourage girls to lead.

Though major label backing would have seen it fare far better, it seems Ashanti‘s independent release ‘Braveheart’ is having no trouble impacting the charts this week.

Set to move around 20,000 units in its US opening week, the R&B effort now finds a friend in the United Kingdom, where it can now boast of owning a Top 40 spot thanks to sales that have seen it out perform Robin Thicke‘s ‘Blurred Lines‘ this week.

This week’s From The Vault journey’s back to the early 00’s with Jagged Edge. The R&B maestros’ dance-floor jam ‘Where The Party At’ serves as our latest pick.

A classic by most counts, ‘Party’ was released in May 2001, automatically becoming the Summer-smash of that same year. It was produced by the era’s formidable hitmaker Jermaine Dupri and featured rapper-singer Nelly.

The first single from J.E.’s third LP ‘Jagged Little Thrill’, the cut was a #3 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 and a #1 smash on the Billboard Hip-Hop/R&B. It peaked at #25 in the UK and reached the seventeenth position on the Canadian charts.

Dave Meyers took the directorial helm of ‘Party’s sun-soaked visual, which offered a literal yet enjoyable take on the song’s lyrics. Indeed, the liquor flowed – even in the pool – and scantily-clad women are omnipresent. As was the norm at the time, the guys paired their pipes with choreography and bust out a few moves of their own amidst the  clip’s racy antics.

With male R&B experiencing a resurgence of sorts in recent years, we feel the scene is still missing an act that would bring the R&B-boy-band agenda back to being front and centre. Put simply, a modern take on the Jagged Edges and 112s of the world. Or a refreshed re-incarnation of the Boyz II Mens and Jodecis. For, the current era seems thirsty in 2014 for a continuation of what Jagged Edge brought to the table during the late 90’s and 00s’.

With Day 26 on the comeback trail, we believe they could execute such task amazingly (with the right backing). Still, we’d like for YOU to tell us about a boy band – up and coming or established – who you feel could fit the bill.

For not only has his second solo album ‘G I R L’ charged straight to the top of the Official UK Album Chart, it’s done so with blockbuster sales.
